boot lock failure

Featured Replies

Boot lock has failed can anybody confirm the three bolts are just ordinary T45 Torx

Also what is the genuine skoda part number and has anybody used a "cheap" after market lock?

According to the parts catalogue HERE there are two variants of lock; manual and central locking. See item #8.

The bolts are listed as M8x22 hex socket head, not torx. See item 9.

I do not wish to doubt you but the bolts in my car are torx not hex and did the skoda fabia 2 ever have a manual lock?

From the list of available models HERE there is no Fabia2 included for 2007. Closest would appear to be a Chinese build Fabia 2 for 2008 HERE which also lists hex head bolts.

The earliest listing for Fabia2 is 2009 HERE but which also shows both lock types and again hex head bolts.

For further information I suggest you contact a dealer and ask them for the part details you seek.

I

am going to pay top dollar for a genuine dealer lock but wondered if anybody had fitted the cheaper aftermarket lock and did it work and last

Bolts were T45 torx, and I managed to get a new genuine Skoda part for £52 all in vat and postage.

Original part number was 510 827 501B superseded by 510 827 501D
