Has anyone experienced any malfunctions with their 2025 Skoda Superb?

Featured Replies

No there was no issues with the car it was running fine. It has covered less than 4000 miles so this may have a bearing on why no problems had arisen .

I have the 1.5 SEL superb ( ordered last year and delivered at the end of december) The cars been running fine but In July the dealership asked tfor the car tobe returned the due to a software issue . Its now been in the garage for 7 weeks , they have admitted they are at a loss as to how to rectify the issue and are waiting for specialist technicians to dial into the car to see if they can sort it out . Hopefully can get the car back soon but not too confident !

Did you ask them what problem the software issue was causing, or likely to cause ???

I would have at least wanted to know what they thought was wrong with the car if it was running and all working fine.

Yes it was a software update concerning charging the battery , at first it was in for a day , however they called to say they have experience issues with other cars and would like to rebook for a couple of days so was was given a courtesy car . It now transpires they are struggling and this is a recall from Skoda UK and the dealership are now talking to skoda uk to correct the issue .

Hi everyone!

Got my 2025 1.5 estate a couple of days ago and immediately noticed DSG jerking when cold. Clutch does not engage properly when accelerating from standstill and it slips for a brief moment resulting in excessive vibration. Transmission works fine when warmed up. Is this a common feature with these dry clutch DSG applications? This is a company car so I am able to take it to dealership so no worries regarding repair/inspection costs and obviously the car is under warranty as well.

Collected my PHEV estate December 2024 and have had no problems with the DSG transmission. Much smoother and slicker in operation than the Citroen PHEV 8 speed box I had previously.

I think the PHEV has a different transmission than the 1.5 eTec. Nonentheless, I will follow how the DSG in ny car operates and if it starts to bother me too much, then I will take the car to the dealer where I got it. Might be just a software issue or a feature that will eventually fade away after the car has covered more miles.

The PHEV has a 6 speed box where the petrol and oil-burners have a 7 speed but I thought the DSG clutch system was the same.

That's not correct.
The 7-speed gearbox coupled with the 1.5 eTec is a DQ200 with dry clutches.

The 6-speed gearbox of the PHEV is the DQ400e evo with oil lubricated (wet) clutches.

Hmm, this isn't going brilliantly. Started the car this morning - Bong!!! "Travel Assist unavailable"... "Front Assist unavailable"... "Proactive occupant protection system restricted"... "Emergency Assist unavailable"... "Error: ACC".

Skoda Assist seem to think it's a front radar sensor gone u/s - waiting for my local dealership to get back to me with a priority appointment at their service centre for diagnostics. I really, really want to like this car - and in many ways I do - but it's not making it easy for me!

I have had this same issue during foggy and rainy mornings. Apparently either the windscreen camera or the front radar does not like moisture, could be both as far as I know. But with my car this goes away after driving couple of miles and everything works just fine from there on.

But my co-workers car has taken this completely to another level. None of the driver assist functions work regardles of the time of the day or weather. Screen is full of lights and it looks more like a christmas tree with nice beeping sounds. The other day the car even refused to start at all. Dealer said that this is a software issue and the car is being taken to them tomorrow to be updated. I will inform whether this helps or not.

Needles to say that I am not impressed with this kind of "quality". Two 2025 MY cars suffering from same kind of issues, which tells that this is not just bad luck, its bad design or bad quality. Or both.

I would assume your co -worker is getting a courtesy car if not iinsist on one as mine went in for a software update 3 months ago and still no nearer getting it back! I insisted on a courtesy car so at least im still mobile .

I've had issues on damp/dewy nights on a couple of occasions before. Car parked up in a damp grassy place (farmyard), lots of dew and moisture around, back to the car very late at night, get in and start it, and get some errors with radar sensors and assist systems. Not the same combination of errors that I've got today, though, and on those occasions they always cleared within a couple of minutes of driving away. Today's errors are still present after 20+ miles of driving, and several restarts. The nearest the car has been to a wet/damp environment was getting washed two days ago.

Your car might have the same problem as my co-workers car. Personally I dont buy it that this would be a software problem. If it would be a software, why wasnt this issue already present when the car was brought to him? This started like a couple of weeks ago with this already described behaviour as my car has and developed in to this crippling state where it is now. Everything was more or less fine for four months or so.

When I was on the phone to Skoda Assist today, the guy I was talking to - after I'd listed the first couple of faults - very much gave the impression that he kind of knew what I was going to say next. I mentioned this - "sounds like you're not unfamiliar with what I'm describing to you" sort of thing! - and he basically said, yeah, sounds like either the front-facing camera or one of the front radar sensors. Given that sign recognition and lane assist still seem to be working fine, I guess that rules out the camera.

I agree , software update is a bit of a cop out , can’t really explain away a mechanical problem for that long so calling it a software problems giving them license to hold onto it longer im thinking this car is not fit for purpose .

A software bug would’ve been isolated and fixed within a month, with another month for testing and release. However, a hardware or design flaw that you’re trying to overcome with firmware may take much longer - if it can be resolved at all.

I could be wrong, but anything not fixed in a 2-3 months period likely requires hardware changes, which I imagine is a curse word in a manufacturer's world.

Looking at the Enyaq's forums and fw releases, I'd bet a lot of the dev team attention is on it. On that note, do you guys think there are OTA updates for ICE vehicles besides the various apps/non-core components?

Disappointingly, despite Skoda Assist pushing it to them as a fault related to the car's safety systems which should therefore be allocated a priority workshop slot, the absolute earliest date my local Skoda dealer can offer for a diagnostic appointment is 13th November. They initially tried to fob me off with 13th December until I dug my heels in about getting something sooner. So I'm stuck with doing several long motorway drives between now and then without front assist, brake assist, and (most inconveniently) cruise control. Not very impressive.

Hybrid issues from Febuary 2025 and car now off the road since July with no resolution in sight. Car was brand new in Dec 2024.

JX1 CU replaced 3 times (dealer blew each one up)

Then cable checks

Earth checks

More cable checks

Dealer back and forth to Skoda UK with neither party seemingly able to fix the fault.

Dealer won't supply any detailed information either (it's confidential apparently)

Requested rejection but 10 weeks later and no response from Skoda financial Services.

My last iV was faultless, this one has been a nightmare.

Skoda UK and Skoda Financial have been abysmal.

No VAG car for me ever again.

An issue that has been with the car almosrt from new (September 2024) is a fault that causes the Adaptive Cruise Control to loose its ability to adjust the preset distance between you and the car in front. This is tied in with the warning message 'Instrument Cluster Error' The car has been back a few times for down loads and a new instrument cluster and yet again it it now into it's second week with the dealer who, along with Skoda Technical are trying dartboard diagnosis to try and fix it. Such a shame as the car is lovely! Any one else had the same issue?

400-mile motorway drive without ACC or any front assist systems yesterday. Very dull. However, to keep it interesting a new sort of error appeared!!

About half an hour after setting off for home yesterday evening... bong! "Lane assist unavailable", and the lane assist symbol turned amber with a '!' mark. That lasted for about 2-3 seconds, then cleared. Half a minute later - same thing again. This cycle then repeated, 2 or 3 times a minute, for the next 10 minutes or so. Just as I resigned myself to having to endure it for the next three hours - it stopped.

Date and time noted, so hopefully the workshop will be able to see these errors when they plug the car in and work out what was going on.

Less than 5 months of Skoda ownership so far - and I've already had way more issues with it than I did in over a decade of BMW ownership beforehand. Starting to wonder if I made the right choice...

Yeah, my coworkers car went for a software update and came back last week. It seems that all of the problems with driver assist fault errors are now gone and has not reappeared yet. All systems are functioning as they should. I find this quite suprising that this all was caused by a software issue. Dealer did not give any detailed explanation but nonetheless car is now fixed.

1849km in the odometer and the car now light the airbag fault light :) Noticed also that the front interior lights and some other isntruments are out of the game aswell.

Sadly, my (very) brief Skoda Superb adventure is over. From late July to the end of October, the car remained immobile with parts of the vehicle exterior strewn about the interior. VWFS accepted the rejection.
