Well everyone else has asked about the car so I thought I'd cover the important stuff.

How were Metallica?

It was amazing! We got 4 santa's moshing, which was a laugh. Even James and Lars took the mickie out of them! :p The set was great. Agree, the new stuff sounded better live, especially as Kirk added a couple of solo's into them. The new bassist, Robert, was a complete nutter.

The first encore was Sandman, then all went dark again. All of a sudden there was the sound of distant machine gun fire, then the pyrotechnics began and we were assaulted with a barrage of explosions and flashes from all over the stage as if there were mortars etc going off. Then the lights shone on the top stage as a shadow appeared and played the intro to One. Have to say that was the most amazing indoor show I have ever seen!

Must've been good, even SWMBO liked it and she prefers Nu Metal like Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit. Think I am converting her though. She now likes Metallica and Iron Maiden! :D:thumbup:

Been a fan for about 10 years now, but this is the first time i've been able to get tickets to see them and am glad I persisted with the trying! :D Definitely go again.

Ross. are you talking about a full de cat system from miltek? what bhp will it give and how much?

Tom.

Milltek do a de-cat downpipe and system for the PD Golf.

The Fabia would use a similar set up. The CAT is part of the downpipe on the PD engine. The exhaust is quite restrictive on the diesels so the make a larger bore replacement and a larger bore system which releases a few more BHP.

If I can get a few certs on this I can ask Milltek if they will do one. Good thing is as its a de-cat not a sports CAT its just a bit of pipe and therefore shouldnt cost the earth.

The exhaust would also fit the Ibiza TDi Sport.

Ask about, I think we would need about 5 for them to make one.

iam intersted in exhust ross depending on price because iam saving for the more inportant remap :) if u find out a rough price for me.

ive got a green replacement airfilter on order. should be here 3rd week in jan but ive just took deliverly on my eibach springs so i will be busy tomm...

i'm in the same opinion Ross. looks like everybody seems to be going the same route. i've get my eibachs fitted on the 29th. they told me the stock dampers would be ok so i'll give them a try first. then it's saving up to be jabbered, i don't know if the miltek route would be any better than the powerflow one. let's compare prices. :moodswing

Cool mod that! Took me about 20 mins in the dark to remove that trumpet, maybe doing it in the dark and rain was not such a hot idea! Yes pick up is quicker!

All this talk of decats etc, made me do some homework on various forums etc.

There is a guy on SCnet who had a full powerflow decat exhaust and freeflow rear box fitted to his Ibiza TDi sport. He actually had a decrease in power with this exhaust fitted.

Maybe the freeflow rear box caused the problems, but it seems the back pressure balance was upset by doing this.

Maybe a Milltek would be different (or just the cat removed) but i'd like to see some proper figures etc before i am convinced. :(

What do you all think?

Would the decat and down pipe fit into the standard exhaust system?

Would the decat and down pipe fit into the standard exhaust system?

No, the downpipe is a larger bore item to increase flow.

I am not gonna stop playing till I get over 200bhp!

Even then, I'll probably still carry on trying for more! :D

how you planning to get the extra 20 or so bhp to beat the 200bhp mark.

Different turbo ;)

Different turbo ;)

that sounds expensive ross

Different turbo ;)

What one? I hear the main difference between the 130 & 150 PD engines is the turbo size, fitting that would do it. I'm just looking to be 100% sure before i even think about doing it myself.

We (AmD) do a modified Turbo (from Turbo Dynamics).

Our PD demo is running one and its putting out 210 bhp atm and about 350 lbft torque.

Was running about 230 with an Alpin control unit but it was causing smoke issues, so now its just on a custom remap.

Very smooth to drive.

Ross, have you fitted a FMIC to your demo one, as I gather that is one of the big differences between the 130 and 150

So i've been told aswell.

Our demo is running the standard intercooler atm.

This is another of those possible future mods! ;)

I had thought that myself.

There is loads of room behind the Fabia front bumper ;)
