Bought this car 2 months ago. (Skoda Octavia 1.5 TSI DSG) and from couple of weeks ago i hear some cracking sounds when i press the brake pedal.

Its not constant, sometimes it's there sometimes it's not but quite annoying. I also uploaded a video to hear the cracking. The service said that it's "normal"

but this should not happen on a new car. Anyone experienced such issues? Also tried disabling the "auto hold" option but still this issue persists.

@Dready did you not ask the service manager to ask the sales manager for a demonstrator or sales car for you to drive to see it was abnormal / faulty and not making the same noise.

Thts what i did, i asked if any of their other cars did this and they still insisted that is ok.Thats why im going to another service

My VW specialist checked my Golf 8 over and said that I'd need a new pedal box to cure it.

That's going to be crazy money, so I guess I'll have to live with it!

I know this is an old thread @Dready but i am also having these noises when pressing the brake pedal..

I already changed the pedal, pedalbox, everthing related to the brake pedalanf its still there..

Can you maybe reuoload your noisefile? Did you find a solution?

Please.. the noise is driving me crazy

Is it a Skoda Octavia 1.5 TSI DSG (MHEV) 2025 or 2026? The clicking sound turned out to be normal behavior, because of the electronics and stuff. I was not quite satisfied with the answer because the first two times i took the car to the official service the guys there had no idea what it was, then i contacted the official skoda which also scheduled a service for me (not sure why) and confirmed that this was normal to hear the clicking sound, it's a relay that is activated when the brake pedal is pressed. Nothing to worry about youll get used to it, and it does not affect the breaking system. Even sometimes i have the impression that im pressing the brake pedal too much or too less, its not constant pressure. Nothing to worry about, enjoy your skoda and have safe trips.

P.S i cant find the clip with the clicking sound anymore, you can upload your so i can check...

I have an 1.5 E-Tec DSG 2024.

In my opinion its interesting that in my case its really loud, and other octavia driver dont have this noise.

Does your noise only come when the car is running? When the engine is off mine doesnt make any sound..

It also not always.. just when i press lightly the brake pedal.. the first few millimeters.. for me its hard to make a soundfile cause it only comes when driving..

yes, its only when driving, the sound is like clicking and it comes from an electric relay , and yes, sometimes its not there it has to do something with the electric braking system and the battery. Also its when its pressed slightly the first couple of mm

Did Skoda actually tell you which relay or module it was? ABS/ESC, brake booster, Auto Hold or something else?

Can you describe the sound? Was it a sharp electrical click or more like a creak (like an old sofa)?

No explanation which part caused this sound. The sound is short clicking onlya couple of mm when i press the pedal. I uploaded a similar sound how it sounds, its not loud but its still there.
