How do I find the detailed spec of my Kodiaq?

Featured Replies

I’ve just bought a 2017 Kodiaq with 2 litre diesel engine, 4x4 and I’m trying to work out how to work everything and what it can do. The user manual covers all variants so I’m never sure what should work or which version of anything I have. I tried a VIN decoder but it didn’t tell me the details I need. I particularly need the engine variant. Can anyone tell me how to find this please?

AFAIK there must be a sticker with options codes installed in the boot, around spare wheel area.

Engine is either 150 HP DFGA or 190 HP DFHA.

There won't be a sticker as they stopped doing that years ago.

But I got mine by asking in the chat function on the Skoda website.

The engine code may well be on the vehicle weight plate in the driver's door jamb.

Just been outside to check. There is no sticker so I will try messaging skoda. Thank you for your responses.

I was going to say as yours appears to be an entry level SE spec it probably won't have many extras, however early cars could only be 5 seat in SE trim so you never know.

My first was an SE as I only needed 5 seats at the time to which I added folding mirrors and a towbar.

easiest way to do it is to take the VIN to a dealer and ask them to print the PR Codes for you. You can't do it yourself any more. Shouldn't cost you much.

Or: post a couple of pics - e.g the Climate control with the switch row below it, driver's door, and then the engine bay. Right hand side of the boot will also tell a few tales.

If this is a 150, it's a DFGA.

Thanks brettikivi, that’s helpful. I am trying to purchase an online Haynes manual and I need to select the exact type. There are 3 possible options for a 2 litre diesel 150 DFGA but I don’t understand the differences or how to tell what I have. The options are

(2016 - 2021) 2.0 150HP (DFGA) DIESEL 0BB-RGB/0BB-RYT

or (2016 - 2021)2.0 150HP (DFGA) DIESEL 0DL

or (2017 - 2021) 2.0 150HP (DFGA) DIESEL 0DL-RPK

DFGA engine. Message landing imminently.

"online haynes manual"? go to Erwin, login in, pay your €8, get the data.

Have you tried that recently?

I seem to remember reading that you can't do that any more.

Edit: I was referring above specifically to the "car data", the list of all PR codes for a given VIN. Not sure now that's what you were meaning?

I guess you may have meant repair data such as covered in a Haynes manual or similar instead?

That would be available on erWin.

Thank you everyone for your helpful advice. Pete managed to get the complete spec for me and I was able to get the right version.

Hi,

The link below may be much more useful than Haynes, and it’s free:

Enjoy 😉 !

You can't get your own car's spec any more (I specifically stated this elsewhere in the thread). However, if the "haynes" is wanted, then erWin is the way to go. A bunch of the information is available here on the forum, but if that's correct for the car in your hands is a question each needs to ask of themselves.

I specifically wanted a car spec when I was looking to replace the Superb about 18 months ago. Ended up taking a plate to a dealer and asking nicely. Did another one from the selling dealer directly.
