Navi and Traffic sign reconition malfuntions

Featured Replies

Hi guys

First the navi doest know where it is, totally lost on the map. At the same time the traffic sign recog stops working. I lasts for a day.

A month a go I had my windscreen replaced after it cracked due to a stone chip. Can this be relevant.

How does the Lane Assist work? It uses the same camera as TSR.

Side note - I turned my TSR off. It works with the ACC and when it tried to brake me from 70mph to 30mph going past some services, that was it for me.

pACC you can Turn alone off

Not sure why the navigation would stop working after a windscreen replacement. I was told a couple of years ago that the forward facing camera would need to be re calibrated if the windscreen was replaced. So potentially that could explain why the traffic sign recognition is no longer working?

Yes, you need Calibration

Error Log is The "No Basic" Error?

Hi.

I have some troubles too with Navi and TSR on my Mk4 2021.

I can see my position in the Map but when I try to calculate a route it's display: "the route could not be calculated".

The TSR doesn't works any time, every time when I start de engine and start the ride It displays "no signal could be recognized".

I have calibrated the camera and it works correctly. My dealer says it was a camera problem but I think It's a software problem.

I have Skoda Connect and infotainment online but I haven't got any update available.

The car comes from Germany and the car now is in Spain, could it be the problem?.

Regards

I think the traffic sign recognition works off the map rather than a camera so if the map is faulty then the traffic signs will be.

TSR works using both the camera and the maps, and cross checks between them.

Do you recommend update the maps manually to try if TSR works again or wait for a next OTA?.

I get the car from Germany to Spain and the dealer doesn't help me about that. They want to change the camera (1200€) and if it doesn't work change the infotainment module (1300€). Ridiculous.

Which Hardware and SW Version have the Kamera? Partnumber HW and SW is?

Thanks but what happens if it can't cross check with the map?

On my Mk3 I get a message on the instruments that TSR is currently unavailable, If the map is out-of-date (because the speed limits have changed) then annoyingly TSR will still show the map data in preference to the camera data.

Was a new camera installed when the windshield were replaced?

Sorry I don't know how can I check this info.

I'm pretty sure the camera is the original, they didn't change it. In my case I recalibrate the camera in a windshield repair service and every parameter was in range with the panel that they put in front of the car

Hi @Cairus

Are you referring this info (attached image).

I'm still having the same problem. I tried to update manually the maps with a USB stick but nothing happens.

Some times when I start the ride it works correctly, but the 95% of times it doesn't work.

Thanks

Read Skoda's manual for the manual mib3 map update. This can take several days and there is no progress status.

More than 3 weeks ??. I have unzipped all files on the root folder. The USB stick is plugged all time and the maps are still on 24.10 version.

I have ride long trips for more than 4hours this summer and nothing's changed

I always copied the manual update to a 128GB USB C stick and it never took longer than 2 days

I've just signed up for a month's free trial of TSR. So far it has recognised the following UK warning signs:

Roadworks

Children (school)

Bend (left/right distinguished)

Side road or crossroads (all rendered as crossroads)

Road narrows

Other danger ( ! sign)

Warning signs it doesn't recognise include low bridge, ridden horses, traffic signals.

On the 'binacle' display behind the steering wheel, the warning sign is shown beside the current speed limit for about 7 seconds. On the map on the central infotainment display it appears with the speed limit superimposed on top of it, so is unreadable!

I'm still trying to work out how the interaction between the stored map data and the observed signs affects what speed limit is shown. It's always the same on both displays (after a 1 second delay), but they're quite often wrong for short distances. It's often too high (in one case showing 70 on a 30 mph road), so it's not just picking the lower one.
