P0113 - Intake Air Temp Sensor Signal Too High

Featured Replies

So, now the fuel leak is sorted I am turning my attention to three errors that VCDS has flagged up. I'll run a separate thread for each to keep everything tidy and searchable.

So, we have P0113 Signal too high, The report, pasted below states G42 which looks like the one that is part of GX26 (Charge Pressure Sender).

My questions are:-

  1. Have I located the correct sensor, as pictured below?

  2. Is it something that may respond to cleaning with carb cleaner or should I just replace?

Log and Picture:-

I think it may be the one in the intake manifold instead.

Was just looking at Fabia 2 wiring info, without remembering this is a Rapid, but will check again now.

Now that I'm looking at the right diagram, you were right, I was wrong, G42 is co-located with G31, charge pressure sender, as opposed to G299 and G71 doing manifold temperature and pressure respectively.

No idea whether cleaning will help, but I have my doubts. No harm in trying, though I guess. I would focus on the outer, temperature sender, the black bead, rather than getting cleaner deeper into the pressure sensing bit.

As I was looking at cleaning the throttle body yesterday, on my wife's 2015 1.2 TSI that's GX26 charge pressure sender (with holes for screw fixing but no screws to do so, or holes just usual German wunderbar fantastic-plastic clips).

If you're going to clean it then don't use carb cleaner (ETA: unless carb cleaner is correct for this) buy and use the proper stuff instead, you can reference the information you prefer for yourself, I would normally like to put a link to reference the information but sorry I'm too hot, mardy and lazy to bother at the moment as I was passing by.

You could also possibly multimeter test unit and connections, again looking up stuff might be required.

Good luck.

Thanks for the replies, I think for £30 for a Bosch part I will just replace it rather than faff about, hopefully that will cross this one off the list!

Cheers.

£30 to save hassle can be fine but you don't want too many speculative accumulative parts fitted ass the costs and results might not be so good, some Dealerships, garages, mechanics and auto-electricians do this to make more revenue and profit.

Do make sure it's the correct Bosch part and not some sort of multi-fit alternative Bosch or other item, you don't want to risk upsetting the computer systems and programs as they're more mardy than I am today.

Good luck.

I changed this just before we went away last week, code has not reappeared in just over 1000 miles so hopefully that is another one ticked off. Thanks for the help.
