Cabin filter

Featured Replies

Hi,

I want to replace the cabin filter in my 2017 Skoda Fabia. I'm struggling to find which one I should buy online. Some of the sites ask you to put in your car reg, but then come up with a number of different filters and I'm not sure which one I need. I am far from an expert 🙂, just want to make sure I buy one that fits and works.

My sons fabia has a choice of two different ones. Best option is to remove yours and match up with whats available. There may even be a part number on the old one for cross ref.

Thanks Alasdair. It's hard to match up with something online, but I will check for a part number.

I know. My son ended up taking the old filter into our local motorfactors to get the right one. The original one he got was square but the one fitted is a different shape.

Bosch BSC1987435002 M5002 Passenger Compartment will fit.

Thanks. AG Falco

Depending on what you want/expect from a cabin filter, from the Mann website, there should be 3 options for the same size/shape of pollen/cabin filter, for years now I've been fitting the Frecious version in our cars.

At one stage or time, cars with manual AC were factory fitted with basic filters, cars with auto AC were fitted with carbon coated filters, but it is up to you if a basic one is good enough for you, or you want the carbon coated option to try to kill some of the incoming air smells or even the Frecious version that adds in supposedly capturing even more things that might annoy you.

As well as Mann, there is Valeo who provide the same options as Mann. If your car has a VW Group filter and it is a Mann one, as well as the VW Group identifications on it, there will be the Mann model number.

Belinda, you've not updated your car details but I think the same filter goes in all/most(?), you can check with the links and "Vehicles / Application" drop-down menu.

I'm a fan of Mann filters as that's that's what I use on my wife's Fabia Mk3. They also include fitting instructions with photos but the cabin filter, for a VW designed and built car, is, very unusually, very simple and easy to install (note which way the flow arrow is).

ETA: shop around prices vary greatly for the same product

Thanks nta16. I have a 2007 diesel Fabia too (stil going after 170,000 miles), but the filter I want is for the 2017 Fabia. Great recommendations 😃

In a (better) YouTuber test Mann FP 26 010 (Biofunctional, FreciousPlus) was third just behind Hengst Blue Care second and Mahle CareMetix just about first as he got it for a reasonable price.

I go with Mann as their filters have always been good for me, well the models I've bought, but if a good quality Bosch (not all Bosch stuff is great), Hengst or Mahle (LX 3525 but do check for your model) is more available at same or lower price I would consider them, different suppliers seem to have different prices at different times.
