Dowpipe

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I have a 2022 Skoda Octavia MK4 2.0 TDI (manual), and I’m considering replacing the catalytic converter and DPF with a 63mm downpipe to avoid potential DPF issues. Is this a good idea or not?

No. If you're in the UK, deleting the DPF will fail your annual roadworthiness test (MoT). Your insurance company will probably refuse to cover you. And there is a risk the engine management system / ECU is unable to cope with the changed gas flow / temperatures / pressures it will be seeing. This means the little yellow symbol of doom may be a frequent visitor to your instrument panel.

OPs profile reads Morocco as location, so they may not care there.

Too bad about the excess emissions though.
