Cedwing,

That’s very interesting, I’ll look later as I use Google maps

Phone warning? Can I assume that you me the phone left behind warning?

I don’t recall seeing/hearing that, again I’ll need see find it and check it our.

The paper user manual isn’t good, but I find the online version so very clunky. So much so I don’t use that at all 🤦‍♂️

Hi, I’ve just arrived home.

I ran the Skoda maps and Google maps on the way home (stopped about half way to swop them over.

Your correct in that when I use Google mapping the drivers screen is showing Skoda maps, I hadn’t noticed the first time I ran them.

I’d forgotten all about the phone option, tomorrow I hope to check it’s active and see if it plays any sounds afterwards.

It turns out I’d left my phone in the cat last evening for about 10 minutes, there was no audible sounds on my leaving the car.

That sounds like an expensive vet bill....!!!

1st service completed. When I booked in I asked them to check the quiet Laura phone warning.

On collection was told the garage had turned up the Laura voice volume.

Result. No change. Other Laura announcements are at normal volume as they were before.

Looks like we’re stuck with quiet Laura for the phone-left-in-car warning.

Well when I started this thread I had no idea how many helpful replies I would get so thank you to everyone.

I have now taken the plunge and ordered an SE L with the 2.0 TSi 204PS engine, towbar and parking package.

This is clearly not the most economical engine but I do like my current 2.0 TSi 190PS engine and as long as it does about the same mpg I am happy, though current petrol prices are a bit of a downer!

I also got a very heavy discount on the car but don’t take delivery until June.

I would be most interested to hear from anyone who has experience of the 2.0 TSi engine.

Nice to read a positive review.

Thanks a lot. Please update if anything changes or reinforces your opinion.

Oh man, hope that you are so true. I am still waiting for my L&K to arrive and I am so scared about all the negative comments

Hozz, been running my 2.0 TSi now for just about a year. Its more efficient (5-10mpg extra depending on how driven) than my previous 16 plate 2.0TSi, which is great. It goes when you push the pedal to the floor but doesn't excite like my 16 plate did - that was a great engine in my book.
I have the L&K Estate with sunroof, as was my 16 plate, its got all the bells and whistles you could want. Love the seats, driving position, dashboard ergonomics all seem to work really well. As mentioned earlier in this thread the "safety" systems are a pain but easily turned off with your right thumb, I recon it takes about as long to put your safety belt on as it does to turn off the safety systems.
My one big gripe is that I think the ride quality has got worse, bump absorption and damping seem to have lost the plot. I have had the car checked by Skoda dealer and they say its all as expected - no shipping spacers left on shocks I was pleased to hear! I can't feel noticeable difference between comfort, standard and sport suspension settings.
I think Skoda have taken weight out of the car generally, the rear parcel shelf is no where near the weight of the 16 plate one and there are general booms and rattles even when compared to my 110K miles 16 plate. The sub woofer has moved to the spare wheel from the NS boot recess and as such is not as good - there are suggestion on this forum as to how to tune the system for better sound and these have helped.
In summary, its still a good car and suits my life style, would I buy another (would be my 5th), not sure at the moment, circa £50K is a lot of cash for something I'm not 100% happy with.
