Fuse blowing instantly for front two windows

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have already made a topic on this issue a few months ago. https://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/530202-problem-with-front-two-electric-windows/#comment-5919838

However I would like to expand on it. I recently took my car to my local mechanic for a full inspection as I needed to get to the bottom of this electrical problem as I need to sell my car.

I have attached a photo on what the scan tool picked up for the window.

I have meticulously gone over the wiring for the drivers area and inspected the cabling going to the fuse box as well as inspecting the relays underneath the steering the wheel.

The drivers door motor is currently removed so please ignore codes for the drivers door.

I am assuming there is a problem with the passenger door motor as there is no breakage in the wires for the passenger door as well as in the rubber boot.

I bought a multimeter recently so I need help on how I can test if the motor is causing this hard short.

All advice will be appreciated

Thank You!!!

Disconnect passenger motor. If it still blows then its a wiring short somewhere. If it doesnt then reckon its the motor. Not sure on the Ovtavia but on the Fabia mk1 the drivers window unit controls the passenger side as well. Check the bulb in the door exit light and wiring. It may be the same fuse?
