Engine pop and shaking

Featured Replies

I hope you guys can help. My 2011 1.4 Vrs cave engine has recently had a engine rebuild piston rings upwards. From a cold start the engine shakes and pops and then smooths out when it hits temp. At it's worst I stop the engine and start it up and it improves. Replaced sparks and coils twice and it has gone but keeps coming back. Is there anything else I should be looking at? Any help would be appreciated 🙏

Just to shoot some idea, fuel filter and injectors have been serviced? pertrol quality?

Maybe engine coolant temp sensor or you have a vacuum leak thats sealing itself when warm. Have you had it read for any codes?

Had the car read for any codes and nothing is coming up. Might have to take it to a garage to see if they can find a vacuum leak as I think that would be the what's causing it

Could be the coolant temp sensor. If they fail completey they will show up a code and can put EML on but if its sending wrong info then it generally wont but can affect cold starting/running. I would change it as they are fairly cheap.
