VCDS Heated rear seats diagnosis - MK2 facelift L&K

Featured Replies

Hi all. I had to remove the rear bench so had to unclip the electrics for the rear bench heated seat elements.

I put them back together exactly as they were originally, but after this they didn't want to switch on again. The centre console has power, the clock works and the kids can use the 12v socket for charging stuff, but the buttons for the rear seats won't activate the seat heating.

Has anyone got any experience with this?

I've tried:-

Making sure the battery is full, just incase it's a charge issue

Checked and replaced the fuses

Ran VCDS diagnostic (auto scan), but no fault codes

I'm totally confused what the issue could be.

Can anyone point me to the specific area in the VCDS software, where you can configure and activate the rear heated seats please? I'm wondering if there might be a configuration issue.

I have looked through 08 auto HVAC and can only see options and settings for the front heated seats, not the rears.

Thanks in advance all 🙏

I have the exact same issue on my 2010 octavia mk2. I had to replace the fuel pump inside the tank and after reconnecting everything as it was the rear seat heating is dead. The buttons light up and everything but there is no heating and the three dashes that show the intensity of heat are not turning on.
