MIB3 Software update

Featured Replies

Hi!

I got the task of updating the infotainment system in my boss' car.
It's a FL Superb, with sw version 0306 currently. She wants it updated to 0330 (don't ask why, it works perfectly fine).
I read all the older posts about this and I am confident I can do it. I only have one question:

Can I go from 0306 directly to 0330, or do I have to update to 0308 first and then to 0330?

No post asked this directly, everyone else had ancient versions and they were told to update to 0308 first, which makes sense to me.
I'm just wondering because 0306 is very close to 0308 and I won't have hours to do the update, so I don't want to if I don't have to D

Thank you for the help in advance!

Here you go - this is my ftp site where I got 308, 330 and 332. If your boss is adamant about 330 then go for it, but 332 is the latest we're aware of.

Download each one, and unzip onto a USB-C memory stick (USB-A if you have the alternative plug in the armrest storage). It only needs to be 8Gb.

Plug into USB port, then hold Menu button until it asks to update software - its'll reboot into Engineering Mode (black screen with small red font) and its pretty logical from there. All touchscreen still and some things you may need to tap twice. Doesn't take very long. Ideally plug a battery charger in but if the battery's good and its had a decent run to be nicely charged then that'll be all you need.

What happens with FEC/SWaP codes for software purchased from Škoda Connect Shop while doing manual non-dealer processed updates?

Nothing!!! If you don't have legal FEC/SWAP, if you have Amundsen, do you know what to do?

What do you mean by nothing? Does the upgrade process store the FEC/SWAP codes locally / does not even alter codes or does it download them from škoda license server after update (dealers case)?

I think that’s only been mentioned on earlier versions like v156.

I’ve got paid-for services and never had any interruption when I updated.

The Dealer had updated from v270 to v306. I’ve done 308, 330, 332 myself with these files and nothing missing or errors.

Cosa intendi per niente? Il processo di aggiornamento memorizza i codici FEC/SWAP in locale / non altera nemmeno i codici o li scarica dal server di licenza škoda dopo l'aggiornamento (caso dealer)?

As far as I know, FECs/SWAPs are enabled only with packages purchased during the car's construction or enabled at the dealership in the case of 0071C during an official Skoda recall. Illegal activations are now available. In fact, updates are only activated if the FECs are in "legal" local mode.

Why I am asking, is that I activated navigation half year later after purchasing the car. Don't want to loose that. 332 might fix/make better online user profile switching/loading, what sometimes gets stuck in 330.

I don't know, did you only register once for Skoda ID? A friend of mine has the same problem, but he registered multiple times. However, the VIN is the same, so you can't steal your own car. I have this hardware and software in my Kamiq and have never had any problems.

I purchased navigation rights from Škoda Connect Online web shop. I have heard that in dealership, after the software is updated, they synconize all the software FAC/SWAP codes with škoda server.

I am afraid that in self upgrade process, this additional purchase will be lost. And if I then want to purchase/update the subscription, online shop will say that you allready have purchased it....

You need to check in the engineer menu whether FEC is active. I know that in Audi MY24 models you can purchase the navigation license online, but I don't think this is possible in Skoda models as they come with navigation as standard. I'm sorry I can't be of more help. You'll need to contact your dealer.
