Slow to warm up 2.0 TDI

Featured Replies

How long does your Superb Mk3 take to warm up, mine takes up to 6 miles in ice weather, 3-4 in below 10 degrees. Also if the heater fan us in to help demist it stays at two bars for ever if only go to the town3 miles.

When it's warmed up it sits at 90 deg no problem.

That is my experience of 2.0 TDI,s & the coolant. & Maybe 10-15 miles before the oil shows an indicated 90*oC .

Same here, even maybe 6-7 miles for water gauge to temperature ( at 10 deg C ambient), if going really steady with no hills.

I've mine running for 10 mins before I'm driving. I have heated screens from and back. The temp gauge hasn't even appeared by the time I leave

Takes a few KM's depending on the driving to get to 90deg.

Thanks for the replies I've nit had a car take so long to warm up before, even my 1963 Morris minor warms up faster.😅

That's about the norm for a VAG 2.0TDi I've had several although the current EA288 is a lot quicker getting warm air into the cabin than the earlier EA189 which weren't great in freezing temps.

Now I run a 2.0TSi and the difference is very obvious
