Good afternoon all,

We've just bought a '72 Superb Estate with the power tailgate. It's perfect, aside from missing a reverse camera. We've contacted our local dealer who say there isn't a retrofit kit for this model; they apparently only go up to 2018.

If an official Skoda retrofit kit isn't available, is it possible to source used parts from wreckers/eBay and code them in? If so, would anyone happen to know the part numbers I need to look out for? I've seen a few kits on Ali* but they don't look compatible with the power tailgate.

Not an expert on VAG, just doesn't look to be enough wires to support it. Some don't even appear to have the button in the boot handle.

A main dealer told you that? They're talking rubbish. The main dealer I bought my '72 Superb Estate with a power tailgate offered to fit one but they were miles from me so got these to do it at home

Hi,

Can i suggest you try the company listed below they fitted one to my 2024 Superb last year. They do supply only and fitted, i went down the road of having them fit it although having seen it done i would have been more than capable of doing it, the most difficult part of the whole appeared to be the removal of the tailgate trim. The complete job took less than 45 minutes. I suggest you give them a call and speak with Dougie he seems to be the boss and incidentally was the guy who fitted mine. From memory the fitted price was about £250 like yourself i tried the dealer and was told no kit was available.
