Hi All, I'm new to this Site, as my son has just acquired a Skoda Felicia - we're based the Czech Republic, but would like to know if there is a Haynes manual for the car (I did search on this site, but nothing came up for 'Haynes').

Skoda Manual is better

There is, number 3505. I'm guessing it's out of print, so you'll have to find a used one.

Bear in mind all sources of information can include errors and omissions including from manufacturers so do check and cross reference with other reliable sources all data you get, Haynes tend to explain things from the ("bleedin'") obvious to quite technical with big gaps in-between the two but can be a useful back up to manufacturers' workshop manuals.

I always recommend having ad reading the car's original 'Owner's Manual' as it not only tells you about the car it can help prevent the need of adjustments and repairs - prevention is better than cure.

Also checking here with very experienced owners and in some cases daily users of the car can save lots of time and bad experiences, often with ****-poorly made modern made parts.

Do let your son be a hands on maintainer and repairer of the car and encourage him to read the car's 'Owner's Manual' and carry out driver/owner's checks and maintenance. Good luck.

You can try eBay if somebody is selling a used copy

Otherwise you can use the new Haynes Online Manuals, which wouldn’t be my choice but sadly that is the way Haynes have gone

Thanks, The Felicia manual in that Skoda site is only in Czech - I am english, but based in the Czech Republic, and whilst I can get by regarding the language, my knowledge isn't sufficient to read through a Czech manual.

I appreciate the link to the multitude of subjects in the Skoda book, but would really prefer an actual Skoda Felicia handbook.

Thanks, that's a comprehensive view indeed! At the moment, I'd just like to try and find an actual Felicia handbook, for simplicity and a quick n easy 'get to know' the car.

There is but only one version for 2000/12 - under Select model click on the Previous tab then see bottom left corner.

There are some on UK eBay but you've not put what year your son's Felicia is and of course they'd be for UK models so some differences (apart from the steering wheel side) in what's on the car but it'd give the general info, more so than the Owner's Manuals for later models too.

Do you have car Felicia Owner's clubs that might have some for sale or available in foreign (English) language(s), or s/h bookshops, motor museums, parts suppliers.

Thanks, the car is Nov '94, would that come under the '95 grouping, for the Haynes manual?

I don't know, VWŠkoda like others use this silly "model year" whether they did in 1994 I don't know but the cover says "1995 to 2001 (M to X registration) Petrol & Diesel", M reg was Aug'94 to July '95 and will be for UK cars and given possible errors and omissions to me even if it was for 1994 (K) I'd take the info in it with a small pinch of salt but good enough for general use. I had a Haynes 1958-1980 and it didn't really cover my 1973 model so I also bought an earlier version that covered supposed to cover my model year and whilst it did it in an added section there were errors and omissions in it but still interesting for the earlier style and might have been useful had I not had other info to check and cross reference against it. For seven quid (I've no idea of money conversion costs for you, if any) I'd get it though I've no idea how good the info and lay out was at those times, the later versions I dislike liked but you and your son might be opposite to me.
