I had a race with a modified GT Mustang..

Featured Replies

Quite possibly.

I just know they were from somewhere in the middle east ' date=' and quite impressively dangerous[/quote']

Well, Dubai feels like anything but its actually in the mid-east.. besides, we got Dubai Autodrome racing track and a driving school in there, a drag racing track, some open straight roads (without speed cameras) where u can do +300 km/h if ur car is capable...

the videos u've seen are for those crazy guys in K.S.A. who drift in cars that they have actually stolen...

Greg, those videos you're talking are taken in Saudi Arabia, not in Dubai. Yasser just said this.

Ah, okay. My geography of the middle east is not fantastic.

Wow..........I over took a Mustang in my VW T25 camper (1983 vintage with a 1.9 wbx engine) does that make it as fast as a 2.0 Fabia?

No.... when will people realise.... the 2.0 is the fastest car on the planet.

thought I was on to a winner there...........oh well..........all hale the almighty 2.0 Fabia

Let this thread die!

Please everyone, can we stop this pathetic banter... I'm sure we have covered all eventualities now! It seems whatever thread I'm reading now, somehow relates to a 2.0 fabia, it doesn't, it's boring and I'm sure it wasn't the thread starters intention either!

Anyone who keeps going on about how the Fabia 2.0 is really fast and is a supercar etc really needs to get a life, maybe get out more.

Mil seems to be a nice chap, theres no need to keep it up, maybe talk about something intellectual if you can!

If you are bored with this thread why did you read it again?

*Sniff sniff* That post was heart-wrenching

Habibi! Don't worry about me! You think I'm absorbing the comments from these pathetic people who have nothing to do but bring up an old subject in every unrelated thread? My car rules and they'll never know what it's like on the road! Ana kabeer habibi! Zees beebel sagheer!

Chris Newell, thanks for that. I AM a nice chap, and I'm chust about ready to chlap everyone who thinks I'm not a nice chap! :D

To Phil aka Goochie, owlets (what are those, baby owls? or sh!tlets), and friend-turned-nemesis Shifty........

:mad::finger: :thumbdwn: :fart: :cussing: :bs:

Having read every single post and laughed out loud I have not yet read one post by Mil to substantiate his claim that his car is faster than the "Mustang".

No video footage, no pictures, no 1/4 mile results, no 0-60 (mph) results. to get an accurate idea of your cars speed.

Also, Mil please don't take offence to my comments, I have read this entire post impartially, and i'm simply pointing out the facts. If you could be as so kind as to not skip this post and reply to any of the things in BOLD above it'd be appreciated.

If you choose not to prove the above that's fine, everyone will understand however you then need to appreciate others scepticism of your claims.

Okay, let's get one thing straight dude, because obviously, you have NOT read my posts and understood them as they're laid out.

I did not 'claim' my car is faster than a Mustang. At the time of the race, I obviously took off flooring it, and then he floored it, accelerating hard and passing me. Come corner, he brakes hard to make the turn, I don't brake and fly right past him at a higher speed of say 60km/h compared to 30km/h. Don't ask me to give you figures, I was not looking at the instruments while racing. I was up way ahead on the straight by a short while, and then I lok in my mirror and see him coming up real fast..obviously, it's a f***in' Mustang. By the time he was next to me, we hit an S-curve, which again, he had to sharply brake on, but I again, din't, and therefore I pulled out fast again.

That is how I won the race. Because of the twists. I never said I could take on a Mustang on a straight.

anyone with a Fabia 2.0 in Yorkshire?

From a well respected motoring web site:

The Fabia 2.0's power steering is light and its ride compliantly soft though the smart 15-inch alloy wheels do make for more fidgety progress than youll experience in some lesser Fabia models. Handling can only be described as detached and corners are meant to be taken slowly. Rest to sixty isnt particularly quick either, given the provision of such a large engine in such a small car. You need to allow 9.9s on the way to 121mph.

I'm sure your out of this world springs transform the handling Mil...

The 2.0 is a good car, a great car at what it is designed to do. But it's no racer.

So my 12 seconds to the ton was way off the mark, 9.9 to 121  Thats Macca territory!

WANT ONE!

Obviously u have read nuthing in this thread.. u just read what mil said in the begining and then poped up to reply.. wtf are u goin to cut this off n get over it geeks??.. mils car doesnt have stupid 15" alloys with stupid factor tyres and factory suspension setting.. and he didnt say that he won the mustange on the straights and he never will be able to beat that coz its got a freakin huge 4.6l engine with over 300 BHP and lots of torque..Give that 4.6..he said that he won the Mustang on the TWISTS I drove 3 generations of mustangs n they dont handle.. and wut ever it was the driver or the car the point is that he won the mustang regardless if it handles better or worse..

Wow Hellfire....you've just p!st off an arab man...not a good thing.

And my car does 0-60 in about 8.5 seconds, not 9.9 factory claimed. And I've done 137mph according to my speedo.

This is just getting (even more) tedious. Locked.

Rob.
