2019 Octavia RS245 throwing many errors

Featured Replies

Hello brains trust.

My 2019 Octavia RS245 Wagon has just started having a hissy fit (see attached photo).

It’s currently 45c in Melbourne Australia - could heat be an issue?

Parked in an underground car park to attempt to cool - errors went away, but the minute I drove back outside and touched the brake, Christmas tree.

Turning off, locking, unlocking and turning back on makes no change.

Booked for diagnostic at dealership on Tuesday, but trying to do my own research before getting to them.

A million thanks.

Maybe Problem with Control unit 19, "Gateway" or broken fuse

You have a Error Log from Diagnostic Tool?

No, I don’t, but I reckon I should invest in once. Thanks for the reply.

That looks like either a broken CANBUS wire or a blown fuse....most likely a fuse. If the fuse has blown, then its a case of determining where the current draw is and finding which module has broken.

All of those systems rely on knowing vehicle speed.

I had exactly the same list of faults when the right rear wheel speed sensor failed on my previous 2015 Octavia.

So I have to disagree and say that in my opinion and experience the problem is a failed wheel speed sensor.

Error Headlight and damage wheel Sensor? Never See this in 23years

If the vehicle has AFS and/or auto high beam those systems also require vehicle speed to know when to enable/disable.

As previously said I had ALL those faults when it was a wheel speed sensor, so I am as near to 100% certain as it is possible to be that this is also the problem for @SimonBest84

Thanks for the replies.

I took it for a drive last night when it was almost 20c cooler and zero warnings.

I’ll drive it today and see what happens.

True but the the AFS and FLA have the Same Signal of the Dashboard.

Of course I don't deny your experiences; I've never had it the way you did.

Drove the car today with no issues.

Currently 25°C in Melbourne, so it may have something to do with extreme temperature? Still booked in on Tuesday at my local Škoda to have it diagnosed.

How old is your coolant? Poor coolant or coolant that is over 5 years old will cause overheating issues. It's worth getting a new thermostat and potentially a water pump whilst you are there (the MK3.5's are less prone to water pump failures but it still happens). Especially with Australia temperatures.

It still gets extremely hot in southern Europe med region in summer months. But that is my gut feeling, the Christmas tree display is characteristic of an electrical issue like a weak battery. But normally this would become apparent in extreme cold, not hot...
