Keyless Lock/Unlock

Featured Replies

I have a 20l Diesel Kodiaq Sportline 190 bhp, new in March 2025.

In particularly cold weather in Glasgow (between 2C and -6C) I've noticed that on occasion the lock/unlock feature doesn't work but a press of the button on the front door handles works perfectly. My previous car, a 2022 2.0l Diesel Kodiaq L&K, behaved exactly the same in the same atmospheric conditions.

Has anyone else experienced the same? I can't really say it's a problem since it happens so infrequently, it's merely an irritation.

Same here. I presume you mean the proximity lock unlock

Also the boot wouldn’t open with the button on the tailgate but would on the keyfob. I have just had the major software update done an it all seems to be working as it should. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

Proximity unlock as in, keys are in your pocket and you walk up and grab the handle - the door unlocks - didn't know there was a proximity lock - never tested walking away without locking - how far do you need to be for it to auto lock? does this need to be enabled?

You need to be a few meters away and it will lock. You can see that from the mirrors or at least the turn signal lights.

It needs to be enabled in the car menu, search for kessy.

I believe by default is on.

Mine has latest updates and never had any issues even in -20. Although I'm thinking about disabling folding mirrors I hate that crackling sound in a morning. 😬

Disabling folding is a very good option, if safe (as in no risk for having them damaged). It puts less strain on the parts.

Apologies for the delayed response.

I mean key in your pocket and just walking up to the car and it unlocks without touching the door handle, about a metre away from the car.

The locking happens around 5 metres away as you walk off. You should also hear a blip.

If you walk away and you hear a double blip, it’s because one of the doors, tailgate or bonnet is open.

I can’t remember where in the menus I found it but I think it’s in the lock/ unlock settings.
