Skoda superb software update

Featured Replies

Hi guys what’s the latest I can update this to (unofficially) as I have vcds and am capable of it, just don’t know what firmware it can go to, I’m just tired of the old green firmware that I’m on and want to be on a slightly later one for my 280 2016 l&k ideally want to be able to change colour of the infotainment screen with the ambient lights

Have a look on https://mib-helper.com

And @JR RS has a brilliant guide for how to do it. I’m sure he will link it below.

Found it.

Follow this and you won’t go wrong!

Hi, thanks for that, I’m already on that version that you sent, I’m assuming it’s the latest but it’s annoying because it looks like an old interface.. I thought it get newer as I’m on the old green type menu and old picture of the car. Kind of like updating the Octavia’s to the facelift update. Don’t know if I can go any higher than my k3343

Yes you have the latest software version.

The only way to upgrade higher is to install the 9.2” screen and upgrade to MIB 2.5

@Sko101 - as mentioned above, MU1433 is the latest version for the MIB2 units.

Would MIB3 be compatible with mine? 2016 l&k with canton. Or is mib 2.5 better

Im pretty sure for mib3 you have to change BCM and many other components. MIB2.5 is the same menu screens as mib3 so that would give you the look you are after. The unit stays the same just with software update and you change the screen for the larger touchscreen one.

Again @JR RS has a guide for it.

I would like the upgrade but I prefer the physical buttons of the mib2.

I’ve bought the glass screen not the 9.2 inch one the slightly smaller one, so I can follow that guide and don’t need to change my unit? 😁

You need to check the screen you have works with mib2.5. I think it’s quite specific which hardware it works with.

Others have much more knowledge than I on this subject!

Why BCM? I have for 1 Werk mib3 from Superb 3 in my Seat without OCU and year 2017 Car. Works fine. OCU 3 you need for GPS for Navigation

Ah I must be Incorrect. I had read that there was something that would need to be updated to have mib3 working in older vehicles.

So if you don’t want navigation you just have to change screen and unit in glove box?

9,2" Screen works with MIB3 Preh Unit is MIB 3 MQB Not MIB3 MQB37W

Horror Picture 😅🤯

Ah so its not the MIB3 screen with buttons down each side.

Whats the advantage of MIB3 over MIB2.5? Especially if you cannot use navigation

Stock Wireless Car Play & Android Auto

USB C

You can use Navigation nur you have To Retrofit OCU Gen3

New Design

More function Navi etc

Ok so I followed that guide and got a 9.2 inch screen. All is well and looks great however my ambient lighting doesn’t also apply to the screen which it should. Do I need to turn on anything on vcds. I only have the 3 colours but that’s fine with me, I just want the glass screen to also change colours with the colour I choose.. seen it on everyone else’s screen

MY15 & MY16 models can't do ambient light matching. They can physically only do 3 colors.

That came from MY17 onwards, with the 10 colour option.

If u want that, u need to physically change the ambient light LED modules in the door cards and dash.

BCM is also a factor.
