L&K lower door trim in Chrome

Featured Replies

Hello all

Can the lower Chrome door trim be replaced easily and purchased separately to the colour coded lower door trim at the base of the doors?

Any links to part numbers and prices and a guide ?

If it’s not on Kopacek (I believe they get a local dealer to paint emblem backgrounds in body colour paint) then chances are you’d need to take to a Bodyshop and get them to paint the strips themselves.

If it helps I refer to this bit of trim that has a chrome strip on top. The trim is colour coded to car if not clear from picture.

the lower door trim on the L&K and Sportline model have a different trim with indentation that caters for the stripe (chrome for L&K and black for Sportline).

other models don't have this stripe, hence don't have the indentation in lower trims.

The stripe is normally sold with the lower trim piece - not alone.

the lower trim needs to be color matched to ur car.

the lower door trim is glued and screwed into the door pane. requires removal of the interior door card removal to access the bolts.

there used to b a website that sold this, for super crazy expensive prices - https://www.skodaautoteile.de
however this site doesn't seem to work anymore.

an alternative is Kopacek or AliExpress. they sell just the chrome/black stripe stick-on version.
this is the Kopacek one - black version:-

Thank you that is really helpful. Shame it’s not the chrome version. Can you not simply remove the chrome strip from another unpainted or used side panel?

That I don't know unfortunately as I don't have one myself.

I however found this from research I did about 6 yrs ago. It shows how the lower door trim is fixed on to the door itself.

I did however improvise by making my own chrome strip, using L-shaped door edge stripes, from AliExpress.

I think the length and expense of taking door apart and having paintwork done is too much. Do tell more about the Ali express ones perhaps I could cover my current 4 chrome strips with these to hide the ones that are chipped or blemished ?
