Octavia RS 245 OPF DSG DQ 381

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I have a stock Octavia 3 RS 2019 245hp with OPF/GPF. Currently I have fitted a Racingline R600 full intake system including hose, turbo elbow, muffler delete.

My plan was to make a stage 1 to reach ~310HP with the intake. But I was thinking again after and I put myself a question.

What if I put a DO88 intercooler and an IS38 turbo?

But I want to stay legal and I want to keep the exhaust completely stock with OPF/GPF. I know this will restrict the potential power, but if I can make ~350hp I will be happy

I wanted to know if my GPF is the same as Superb 272hp(because it has IS38 as stock), so I've called at the Skoda dealer to ask about GPF part no. My Octavia has 3Q0 254 501 PX and Superb has 3Q0 254 501 QX. The P and Q defines the engine. (for example LX is a 1.5 TSI). So may not be the same.

Are people here who made this modification? Intake+intercooler+IS38+software but keeping the exhaust stock with GPF? How much power did you make?

The lower output EA888 is the same as the higher output, with the exception of a few minor internals, the turbo and lack of DSG/aux cooler.

You should be able to hit 350bhp with just the intake and injectors - mine did (nearly). Going for an IS38 or equivalent is totally overkill to hit 350bhp - that’s almost remap only numbers. If you’re doing the intercooler and turbo, you should be seeing around 430bhp. With something like an HJS downpipe and Golf R injectors, you should be able to comfortably hit 470/480bhp.

Do88 is a good intercooler, but as is Direnza and Wagner. If you’re going to be having fun fun, it’s probably also worth doing the DSG cooler. Racingline do one. I’d do a custom ECU tune, and then TVS for the box.

At mid-400bhp you’ll also need to take a look at the brakes, suspension and platform bits like the lower dogbone mount.

@OccyVRS so you say that with Intake+intercooler+IS38+software but keeping the exhaust stock with GPF will make 430HP?? seems overkill this value.

Keeping the IS20 and do only the injectors also for me seems overkill for the turbo, since a Stage 1 unleash the full potential of a stock turbo

This is the only real link I can find, developed between Awesome and RL. All the people I’ve spoken to say the same, as I was exploring the options without removing the GPF. Do the downpipe/take away the GPF and you should be seeing over 460bhp.

The injectors were overkill - mine wanted replacing, along with the plugs, so I decided to put beefier ones in. I did also put in colder plugs. As of this year though, it’s back to stock.

What spark plugs did you use? You have a part number?

Current ones are OE. I used NGK… I want to say R7438-8 or R7438-9. They weren’t R7437-9, I know they much.
