Skoda Karoq 1.5 SE L. - auto locking question

Featured Replies

I recently bought a Skoda 1.5 se l 2024 Reg. I was under the impression that it automatically locks after so many seconds after you have left the car (without having to physically lock it using the key fob). Mine doesn’t seem to do that. So is that feature only available on certain models? Thanks in advance.

AFAIK, auto relock only operates if the vehicle is unlocked, then left for more than approx. 35 seconds without any door being opened.

This definitely doesn’t work from my car. I left it unlocked walked into the house and left the keys in the sitting room, then went out after a minute or so and it was still unlocked. I read somewhere on Google that this feature will only apply if it has a particular interface installed. I’ve no idea if I have that interface 😅. So as things stand it seems it’s either a fault or I don’t have that particular feature.

You lock it touching the sensor on the raised area on the outside handle and not using the fob. Only if you have the newer Kessy Advanced system does it 'Autolock' or unlock as the key fob goes over 1.5 meters away. Or comes back into within 1.5 meters.

Ah thank you. Is there any way of me finding out if I have the Advanced system or not (other than the fact it doesn’t appear to work)? Thanks 👍

I don't believe it's fitted to Karoq. Google suggests it's on Octavia (which surprised me) and Enyaq.

Thanks for letting me know 👍

There are two Auto relocking methods

1) Walk-Away autolock which locks as soon as the key is out of range. As discussed above this is only available with later Kessy systems and if it is fitted then there is an option in the settings Vehicle > Exterior Settings > Opening and Closing, to toggle Walk-Away Locking .

2) Passive auto relock

This should work on all Karoqs

If you unlock the car using the remote or by touching the handle sensor, but do not open any of the doors within a specific timeframe (usually 30 to 45 seconds), the car will automatically lock itself again.

Thanks very much! That explains things perfectly 🙏🏻👍
