Skoda Connect issue

Featured Replies

Evening all,

Picked up my new (to me) 2022 Superb L&K yesterday. Really pleased with it, but am having one minor issue when trying to set myself up as the primary user on Škoda Connect.

When I try to become the Primary User, the car asks me to authenticate using two of the three keys. The process consistently detects both keys successfully (0/2 → 1/2 → 2/2), but then the car sits on a loading screen and eventually brings up and root message. The MyŠkoda app eventually reports that the process has been ‘aborted’.

I’ve tried quite a lot of troubleshooting, including:

  • Trying all three keys, and every possible two-key combination/order

  • Keeping the unused third key well away from the car

  • Soft-resetting the infotainment system

  • Removing the vehicle from the MyŠkoda app

  • Closing my original Škoda account and creating a completely new one

  • Deleting and reinstalling the MyŠkoda app from my phone

  • Confirming that the only users shown in the car are my own profile and Guest

  • Factory-resetting the infotainment system

  • Reset all factory settings

I occasionally also get a message saying that a vehicle key has already been detected and that I should use a different vehicle key, despite the Primary User activation never completing.

The key authentication itself appears to work correctly every time, so I’m wondering whether there could be an issue with the Škoda Connect registration, infotainment software or online connectivity module.

I appreciate there are a few threads on this (where I got most of the above troubleshooting advice from!) but nothing that solves it for me.

Any other ideas? Otherwise I imagine it will be off to a dealer to see if they can resolve it.

Thanks.

I had exactly the same problem as you when I bought my 2023 Superb 2 years ago. The dealer where I bought it (Sinclairs of Swasea) couldnt fix it and it had to be referred to Skoda Support, who came up with a solution, but it had to go back to the dealer. As we were selling our house and searching for a replacement in Lincoln at the time and we were then living in Brecon, which was nearly 50 miles away, we deferred it until we moved to Lincoln, where it was resolved by Hortons.

You will probably need to take it to the dealer. Mine was done under the manufacturer's 3 year warranty, so I assume you'll be able to get them to fix it under the warranty you had with your car?

One thing they couldn't fix is when I use a pin location on the map, it shows the address, then England, Deutschland. Also, traffication shows the traffic laws for Germany in this country. The dealer says a software update should fix this when Skoda issue one, but I'm sure I'll have to live with this until I sell the car. I'm not that bothered about it, but a relatively new car should have everything working correctly. When we went abroad in April and May, pin locations and traffic laws came up correctly in other countries as far afield as Lithuania with the traffication notifications working correctly.
