Hi there

Ive got a fault on my kenwood radio. Ive traced it to there being no power to the ignition on live wire, but i cant seem to find a fuse for it anywhere. Ive checked the ones on top of the battery. Can anyone tell me where to find it?

I would imagine it would be in the main fuse box which is located on the end of the dashboard (visible when the driver’s door is open). I'm not familiar with the setup in the Octavia yet so couldn't give any more help than that. I think the fuses are listed in the handbook though.

I looked there but i couldnt find one for the radio. The book doesnt seem to corespond with what the box looks like. If anyone knows the number i will go check it out.

Are you sure you've got it wired up correctly?

When fitting an aftermarket unit you need to swap the perm live with the switched live.

You say you've looked at the battery fuse's have you checked the ones in the end of the dashboard on the drivers side?

I'd go with what Stu said. If it isn't that don't forget that many aftermarket head units include inline fuses in their wiring looms.

The diagram in the book might be the mirror image of your car (if it was drawn for LHD cars)

ok lads i found it. I knew it wasnt an issue with the head unit, its been running since january in there. It was in fact a fuse i had overlooked in the pannel on the drivers side, so im looking rather embarassed! Cheers eveyone
