Keeping alloys clean...

Rooboy....MC2 Multiclean as used and given to Q and Fen L&K is sold for
Due to the temps they run at this residue pretty much welds itself to the rims.

If it's heat which is fusing them on, wouldn't it possible just to heat it up and scrape it off?

Rob.

Q...the use of an old tootbrush is just fine. The problem is two fold. 1) You are applying far to much wax...in less than a year you have devoured a whole pot. Most peeps need at least 2 or 3 yrs before they start considering to re order!!!

2) When using the toothbrush, you only need to gently push the brush against the edge of the trim and its gone. use less wax and the need for the tootbrush will NOT occur.

SkodiRS (Adrain)....yes i do make my own glass cleaner and commes in 750ml trigger spray bottles. All that is needed is apply a very fine mist and buff with newspaper quickly and briskly. Again thius was shown to Q and Fen L&K

TaviaRS...still possible to clean em. remember I am a chemist. 1st problem I see that you have is not the type of pads you run (I have loads of customers who run the pads) but the "apparent" irregularity of proper cleaning. Yes I can even supply you with a strong acid formulation but tricky doing this in the post....I'd get my hand well slapped for doing this if there were to be a leakage and a big claim would await me. I'd rather do it myself. if you were serious one option to consider would be to remove wheels and ship to me for refurbing(removing the problem deposits etc). My charge be

How long would it take? I can come down to Plymouth anytime, that's not a problem. I could collect the other bits I need then as well (saphir wax, paint rubber and multiclean).

You are right, it is neglect :( It gets washed and cleaned once a week (well at least the wheels do) trouble is, I do 1000-1500 miles per week.

TaviaRs

That would be no problem. BUT and I say but. I am off soon on my travels...beds, Manchester and Leeds. Also stocks of wax wizard (what I make) and swissol must be seperated due to arsey VAt regs etc and payments to be kept seperate etc etc. plus we have streamlined the swissol side to a central storage place.

it would be easier for me to ship or deliver direct to you. just need card details for the swissol stuff and cheq for the WW stuff.

Let me know off line what you'd like to do.

I find Wonder Wheels pretty good, and have recently started using Turtle Wax Brake Dust Barrier - makes it a lot easier - it lasts a few washes then it's Wonder Wheels out again and re-do the Dust Barrier.

The Turtle Wax wheel brush (in my Xmas valeting kit, maybe available seperately ?) is good too. :)

I see that you do not have a pressure washer....I strongly suggest that you get yourself the cheapest Karcher washer there is......it is the model I use PROFESSIONALLY! With a pressure washer you'll be able to get the wheel arches clean, wash road salt from the underside of the car and it will speed up your washing routine immensely.

Stage one complete. I have bought the cheapest Karcher.

Courtesy of Mr. Wax Wizard my multiclean freeby and excellent little brush came yesterday and I tried them today. I certainly can recommend it, with a lot less effort my wheels are pretty spotless but I think the new jet wash helps too. All I did was give two a good coating, a very quick once over with the brush, washed half the car and then jetted off. It's actually quite amazing how much the inside of the rim comes up too. A major plus point is the fact that you can just leave it on, unlike acid. I would guess that those of you who do lower mileage may even get away with not using the brush.

So along with the Mer combo my car came up spotless.

And now as I type this, it is absolutly throwing it down outside. :really:
