do you not use:

1. brake to slow down

2. accelerator to speed up

3. clutch and gear n0b to change gear

4. and steering wheel to change direction

I must be doing it all wrong

right gear for the speed, all the time.

9/10 times, putting foot down gets you out of trubble more affectivly than the brakes. you might not crash into people. but you can be sure that them other cars on the road are guna try and crash into you!!!

And 9/10 times, good observation and forward planning means you don't get into trouble in the first place :P

Here's how I drive:

Look in mirrors etc...

Brake

Slow down

Change down

Go round corner

Accellerate away

My dad would say 'Why use up your brake pads and wear the gear box, that's what bumpers are for.'

Seriously though, I just knock it into neutral and brake as and if I need to.

The IAM always says "brakes to slow, gears to go"
