Fabia autochanger question.

Featured Replies

I can get hold of a VW autochanger as fitted to all SEAT/VW/AUDI models (believe its a Panasonic item) has a lead on it with a small blue square plug on it.

Will this fit to the Symphony set in my Fabia?

Cheers

Ross

The unofficial dealer line is: don't bother, as for the cost of it you might as well buy a sony or jvc head unit/autochanger package.

if it has 8 plug holes in it then yes it should fit, however if it will work or not

There is no cost. CD changer is a freebie thats why i'm asking.

Will do.

Just need to find some suitable keys for sliding out the headunit.

Seem to be thinner than the normal VW/Audi type.

feeler gauges/ thin metal zip tyes or strong plastic/ metal ruler on a swiss army knife/ cut down credit card/ Halfords are quite good ask to borrow their selection bound to be one that fits.

Hope this helps mate

Edit  skoda dealership aswell

Ta for the sugestions:)

Ross,

go to your Skoda dealer, if they have the keys they'll do it for you for nothing....mine did anyway.

if you cant get it out come to the birmingham meet and i will get the radio out for you as i have the proper radio keys.

if it has the blue connector i'm 99% sure it will work.

heres is the pic of the back of the radio. i marked the area the blue connector should fit. should be in the middle of the top row.

Alright dudes, just curious how hard it is to take the stereo out? Anyone got a pic of the keys that u use to take the stereo out?

Could u use the items that Fabia mentioned?

Presume you just try to release the catch in the stereo. Been thinking of putting a Sony MD head unit in mine and i guess you need to have a facia for the dash - anyone know how much they are or you can get them for free?

They're flat straight things that push into the little slots at either side of the head unit - they do sell the proper ones in Halfords for a few quid, but personally just tended to use picture hooks straightened out... :)

Rob.

Mikey... yes you will need a facia adaptor.. they are about twelve quid from halfords or any ICE store..
