Mirror Puddle Lights - Upgrade

Featured Replies

Hi

I Have a 2.0L 4x4 (06) Octy 2 Estate and my mirrors on the demo car i test drove switched on lights within the mirrors along with the headlamps at night.:)

My question is can my car do the same, I guess that it is wired up already, but what would I have to do to enable me to get these lights working?:finger:

Does it require a setting to be programmed or a fuse:eek: or bulbs?

Please let me know if you have any experience in this.

Thanks:thumbup:

Andrew

I have tried to enable this on another Octavia and it didn't work. It gives a fault code after you've enabled it.

Was the car that you tested an Elegance?

My elegance has lights in the mirrors that light up for a short period when unlocking the car or switching off the ignition so you can see in the dark. They turn off though when you start the engine.

Hi

Yes it was a Elegance... I just wondered if it was a simple case of adding something or programming something to enable it on my 4x4 as my mirrors seem the same type, but just do not light up at night when getting in or out of the car.

Andrew

Puddle lights are stadard on the Elegance, I think the one on all lower models are just repeaters for the indicators

MAYBE u should go to the Setup menu of ur Display and there u should "activate" the coming home/leaving home option.

Think that should solve the problem?

Not if the puddle lights aren't fitted. I have coming/leaving home on my vRS and my puddle lights don't work. Although I've yet to try and enable them in VAG-COM.

tried enabling them on thevrs but u cant. because its based on the Ambiente it just doesnt have them to enable.

The VRS is based upon the classic spec according to the book i have next to me :)

I was sure it was ambiete, but fair enough if Iam wrong

Nope the sport is based on ambiente and vRS on classic according to the UK 08/06 book I have from the dealer. (TSO010 08/06 is the ref number on it)

I loved the VRS as a drivers car but it really is just missing so much equipment.

Can you order an elegance with the sports suspension as the dealer said otherwise.

I have the elegance with the Sports Suspension and 17" Pegasus alloys = £500. Need to check the brochure.

Brochure said yes , dealer said no, just wanted to see if it had been done :)

Good to see dealers bullsh*ting potential customers again.

The vRS also has a strengthened bodyshell.

WHat have they done to it stu?

Welded in some extra reinforcing struts into the shell.

To quote -

The connection of the inside of the wheelhouses with the rear part of the floor is reinforced through this adjustment and thus increases the rigidity of the entire body.

Ohh nice, do you know if they do this to the sport too, or just the VRS?

Ta

The information I have refers to it as a modification for the vRS over and above the normal Octy II
