Featured Replies

can somebody tell me where my pollen filter is and how do i remove it?....i bought a can of aircon cleaner and it says to remove filter first!

cheers

You need to remove the wiper arms, then the black plastic trim at the bottom of the screen then the cowling under there. The filter is on the passenger side of the vehicle, near the wing in front of the cabin bulkhead.

If you have skinny hands, you can just lift the egde of the scuttle cover, unclip the old one and put a new one in....

Kit. If you find you cang get it out without removing the wipers and panel, search here first. People have broken wiper arms and scuttle panels while trying to remove them.

Doesnt the air-con refresher need to be used with the system on "recirculation" and therfore bypassing the pollen filter?

beats me!!! it says on the can to remove pollen filter or internal filter first!!....i just thought you sprayed in the vents!!.....dont want to waste it as it costs 20euro a can:(

its the "bardahl" one....didnt think it would be that much!!....halfords is miles away for me,so couldnt get comma one.

Is it one that you leave in the car with the windows closed? If so, start the engine, put the air-con on re-circ mode, ensure windows are closed, stand the opened can in footwell, close door, leave for a while.

If you are taking the pollen filter out, put a new one in as they often start to smell.

or just get damp, which can cause windscreen misting up problems....

Halfords (over here in not-so-sunny England) sell a small puller that you can use to pull off the wiper arms.

Ross has a method involving wiggling and yanking (I think thats what he said) but it diddnt work for me.

ah i see!!!...nobody mentioned that when they said remove wipers!!!:).....think i will just ask garage to do the whole job when it goes in for a service!!....its only a month or two away:)

There is no need to remove the wipers to replace the pollen filter. Get the wipers in the vertical position by swithing the ignition off mid wipe, remove the rubber weather strip on the engine side of the scuttle panel, unclip the left hand scuttle panel from the base of the windscreen and move it to access the filter.

You dont need to take the wipers off, pull up the n/s of the sctuttle trim, slide you hand in and pull the filter out like the learned man says above.

?

Halfords are over here in Ireland too...

I did the yanking and wiggling thing ( ) and was able to get the filter out and replaced, but then I had a spare pair of hands helping

tried to do that but couldnt hold up the scuttle up and undo the clips and remove the filter all by myself!!

its going in next week for service so the garage can do it!!...along with the other stuff on my list for them to look at!!:)

I used a small piece of wood (a small branch - max 2 inch diameter) to hold the scuttle cover up when unclipping the pollen filter.
