Tyres again - not a question though

Got 4 205/55/16 NCT5's today for my 4x4, all in with tracking done as well

I've now done a few hundred miles and can def say that the NCT5s are far superior in the wet and a bit better in the dry than the old P6000s. No more noise either. Just have to see how long they last.

Too true about P6000s - my latest (second-hand) Octavia came with four P6000s, and after a once round in the wet, I couldn't get rid of them fast enough!

I used to have p6000s on my 306 (195/55/15s) and they seemed to work very well on there. Guess they are not suited to all cars!

The 306 was designed with michelins in mind, including the energy versions.

If a car is designed to handle well on the energy tyres will will handle well on anything :)

got 12000 out of my nct, 1.9 tdi and not driven hard, looking for advice on new tyres poss conti

Michelin Pilot Exalto 2 or Pilot Primacy are good all round tyres with a sporty edge and long life.

have you tried or know falken ze 512? thanks for your reply Craig

Octavia 4x4 - replaced 4 of Michelin Pilot Primacy which has been described by others as a good all rounder and very smooth. New tyres are 4 of Michelin Pilot Primacy HP which are extremely quiet with very encouraging grip levels on wet and dry roads. Thanks to a 20% discount on normal Costco pricess for a purchase of 4 tyres, total bill incl balancing (no tracking) came to £250.00. Costco offer ends 26 Nov 06

4x4 - I got 4 Dunlop SP SPORT 01's - I love 'em. Much better than my old Continental SportContact. Good all 'round and quiet.

couldnt' agree more about the P6000 - I had a set of these on a Honda Civic Hybrid once - they were actually scary to drive on in the wet - but the shop refused to take them back so I was stuck with them for a year.
