As most of you know I had my vrs fabia for sale and now taken a deposit for the car just wanted to know what reg and how new for a vrs octavia could I for up to 6k or what other car would you recomend

Buying private or going to dealers?

Private should pick up 52-03 plate with 60k on for about that price,dealer would be about 02 if your lucky.

Have a good search in 'for sale' section.

well I think dealers are only good for one think and thats is selling new cars as all the cars they have on there forecourt are cars people cant sell and have to trade them in see a y plate for 7700 with over 60k on clock and thats was a lemon

Might be worth looking for 4x4 1.8t as well as they seem a little cheaper.

Not necessarily - some people like the idea of trading in a car with no hassle of a private sale etc. There is also the peace of mind when buying used from a dealer - particularly if a car is just out of manufacturer warranty. Having a place to go back to and get something fixed for free should it go wrong has a lot going for it.

Some people dont mind paying extra for this hassle free process and peace of mind - its why good dealers still thrive.

In an ideal world we should all sell private and go and buy a car private and it would never go wrong. Things arent always ideal tho!

car looks nice , and low mileage if that's what gives you a warm feeling, but strong money IMO for a "Y" private car..

I recently bought my 02 on ebay with 87K for £4800 and haven't been able to fault it, maybe I got lucky?

why should I buy a vrs for 5k to 7k when I can get A4 tdi quattro 2.5 for 7 k ish with 60k on clock are the vrs realy well as the money there feching or should I get tdi

Quattro is nice, but the system zaps a lot of power. My brother sold his Y plate vRS with 54K on the clock for 5,500 privately a couple of months ago
