ARG!! Is there anthing I can do to turn off the motion alarm in my Fabia?

I often leave Princess in the car and she moves half an inch and sets the dam thing off. I was at a wedding today and it kept going off.

Can it be vag commed or something to only come off if I lock the car the old fashioned way (ie key in door)?

Doing my head in!!

I think that, if you 'plip' the remote a second time within 30 seconds or something, it turns the internal sensors off.

Dont leave dogs in the car, its exceptionally dangerous to the health of the dog (and if the car gets spotted you will get nicked iirc, even if the window is down).

Press the lock button twice or click the button on the inside of the b pillar before locking the car.

That's must be what I was doing wrong. I thought locking it twice would be what turns the alarm on. What/Where is the B piller?

As for keeping the god in the car, needs must. I had the windows open wide, parked in the shade and she had water to drink. I often leave her in the car for up to a few hours without a problem, and she is going to be 10 years old this November. She hates being left at home.

Water and window down makes no odds to the temperature inside the car. If the dog is spotted inside a locked unattended car you will get busted for it, fined and the dog could possibly get taken away.

Thats if it isnt dead allready.

I'll back emily up on this one, I've never seen a dog so well catered for in a car!!

Bowl of water, bed, windows open and emily running back at every opportunity to check Princess is OK.

Shut a car up even in 20 degree heat with a window open and a dog can be dead in under 10 minutes fact.

Remember the heat can double in that car and its wearing a fur coat.

I would never do anything to Princess that would cause her the slightest discomfort, let alone endanger her life.

I am a good dog owner, and Princess adores me.

She is not left in the car often, the alarm goes off mostly when I am paying for fuel for example. I can hardly take her with me.

Thank you for your advice on the alarm.

So not locked in the boot on a 20+ degree day whilst trying to sneak her into an event where dogs arent allowed?

Thank you for your advice on the alarm.

Your welcome

p.s sorry if this seems a little harsh but I find you comments somewhat two faced and hard to swallow as a relation of mine killed thier dog by leaving them in the car unattended whislt they did some quick shopping on a hot day. They didnt think they would be long.

Very good point, you are right. I don't make a habbit of that mind, and I did not think it would be no dogs.

Understood.

and I did not think it would be no dogs.

.

Just imagine racing around a circuit and a dog runs out in front of you.

In my own defence, I feel I should point this out:

My neighbours (it was there wedding today) have been away from home for 4 days. There big 2 dogs have been left alone all of that time, with the back door left open so they can poo in the garden and me who has gone in to feed them. I just gave them a little walk before bed.

Princess has been left in the car for 30-45 minutes during the cermony. The car was not hot when I got back in it, it was only 16 degrees outside. At the end of the day I know who I would rather have as my owner.

At no point was Princess going to get on to the track.

some owners are thoughtless about their dogs particularly in cars, having met Emily and princess at the bbq I don't feel she falls into this category. I know it is dangerous leaving a dog in a parked car, and I even avoided going away for the weekend with mine because I wanted to avoid him traveling in the boot for 1.5 hours in 28 deg heat.

Talking of the track, did you check if the Car Limits day allows dogs in? Just a thought.

Chris

You seem to be on the end of it again Emily:(

Its not meant as a personal attack on EE, we have talked on MSN etc and she knows there are no hard feelings (oo err) its just after you lose a dog in that manner its tough.

and there i was thinking this thread was about how to turn off the alarm, amazing how some people just have to keep going on and on and on and on

It is the value of a discussion board, we are discussing.

My Mum is home at the moment, so Princess won't be attending this meet.

maybe a new thread so that this valued discussion can be found easily??? ;)

Th thread was still on course, seems to be wandering now though.

I wonder how long it will take to get the furby nicked then? Windows down etc, etc etc, or even worse, the dog nicked! but What Lummox says, 2 presses on the remote lock will disarm the sensors

it does happen

Dog napping is big business. Especially if you leave your phone number on the dogs collar - they can phone you and say "We have your dog, We want

If Princess was to get Dog Napped I know my mum would do anything to get her back.

I live in a very low crime area. The alarm is mostly an issue, as I said, when paying for fuel.

Only when I changed cars from ym favorit did I stop taking the keys out of the ignition, or leave them hanging in the front door.
