Check out the discounts forum, look up Horners in Manchester, they hada deal a while back, Cost + 1GBP, I think it came to 14501 or there abouts, less than list for sure.

Local guy might match that if his quota is in question.

Yes discounts are definately available but some dealers better than others.I got an vRS estate in black magic with parking sensors and cruise for 14999 just before christmas.

parking is worth getting and if you do much motorway driving cruise is great - especially for the fuel figures

also be wary of Irish (exports to me) imports to you.Spec is probably totally different to what you expect,most obvious is 16" alloys as standard,no multichanger or climate. There are other differences as well. David

I must admit if I knew I wouldn't lose that much on mine I could be sorely tempted to go for a new vRS especially with the 0% deal being back on. Ho Hum...
