Right, right, I get the message!

I should be married and living in rural Scotland to drive a modified vRs....

Well, having tried everyone I could think of, the best I could get was £761 -although the £650 accidental damage excess is a bit steep- by joining Privelige as a 'new' www customer (also saving 10% as a house insurance customer), then adding the re-map.

I'll have to keep money aside for the XS in case I ever need to claim though....

i normally add as much voluntary excess as possible as it highly unlikely that i willo claim, t would virtually be a write off for me to claim.

pay out £500 to claim, then lose all NCB and also have a large claim on you for the next 3 or 5 years means a massive payout over the years. small knocks that are my fault i tend to just settle on the side :)

Ha, ha. You should see my renewal premium from Zurich today.

I drive a bog standard 02 Octy Elegance estate, 110 TDi... I'm 40 and live in a very posh SK postcode.

OK, I've had 4 claims in the last 5 years, however, my premium is now jumping from 625 pa to just under.............

You guys probably already know but a straw poll in my office revealed 60% didn't...that say you have 5 years no claims, then claim, your NCB doesn't always return to 0.

So, say you have 5 years' NCB and pay NCB protection and have a bump after 3 years of the policy, the money you've paid might be more than losing a year's NCB and then paying the increased premiums to return to 5 years' NCB.

Anyway...I know what I mean...check your policies....

Yeah, I know what you mean.

I'm talking to the insurance company about paying off a claim or two to regain NCD.

However, in the meantime, I've had a quote from someone else for 960.....still steep, but there you are...

Gordon Bennett!!!!

This got me to thinking about how much I'd paid and claimed (2 shunts, one in May 2000, and one in Oct 2001) down the years, and I've paid out slightly less in premiums (since first owning a car [new new Citroen ZX 1.4] in Sept 1995) than I got back from the 2 claims!!

hell i am only paying 500 for 27yr old single (well not married) on chipped octy vrs... got a quote for 21 yr old G/F just passed to be put on insurance 900 now i am getting ear ache cos her lupo is "too slow" and 900 is half what she is paying "why dont we just use your car" she says lol

gav if your vRS is chipped why does it only make 177bhp and 168lbft?
