Rear Park Sensors on Elegance Estate

Featured Replies

Hi.

Have a problem which up to now I have sent the vehicle back to the Skoda dealer to deal with, but this is now happening far too often to afford this!!

Some PIA is taking great delight in pushing in the sensors on the back bumper. Is there any trick (without dismantling) to get them back in. I cannot access the rear of the bumper without some dismantling.

Very grateful for any ideas. Tried blu-tak, elastic bands and that sort....

bit of gaffer tape behind the bumper to hold them in place?

That should hold them, but will break before the sensor if the decided to push really hard.

I use my towbar as a parking sensor ;-) That will teach someone to park on the white 'keep clear' line right behind my car..... :D:rofl:

Cheers, but that doesn't help me at the mo?

I take it there is no alternative but to dismantle the back end....:(

Just to let folk know what I did:

I removed the 5 torx screws from the bottom of the bumper (underside). This gave me a little movement in the bumper enough to get my hand inside the metal box-section behind the plastic moulding. Then it was a simple matter of feeling for the sensor and re-fitting it back into the hole.

Easy when you know how!

You could use some 'Araldite' (is that spelt correctly?)

Epoxy glue.

This will stop them moving, however, you might be buggered if one stops working.
