Ignition switched +ve supply on Octy II headunit

Featured Replies

I'm in the middle of fitting my phone's hands-free kit and have come unstuck trying to find an ignition switched supply!

The connections marked on the standard headunit ("SAFE" & "+UB") are both live with the ignition switched off

Does this help -

1 - Speaker + rear right

2 - Speaker + front right

3 - Speaker + front left

4 - Speaker + rear left

5 - Speaker - rear right

6 - Speaker - front right

7 - Speaker - front left

8 - Speaker - rear left

9 - Convenience system CAN databus (high)

10 - Convenience system CAN databus (low)

11 - Mute (telephone mode)

12 - Terminal 31

13 - Control signal

14 - Outside actuation

15 - Terminal 30

16 - Terminal 30 - (anti-theft lock control signal, „SAFE“)

I found the best ignition supply is the left hand row of the fusebox on the right hnd side of the dash. There should be a few spare slots. Having the right terminal means you can also plumb it into the fuse box properly and it looks neat and tidy.

Thanks guys - but it doesn't help...

My head unit has different pinouts -

I only have 5 connections on the ISO style connector - 0v, SAFE, +UB, CAN/L & CAN/H. (The telephone mute has moved to the green quadlock) and as I said both SAFE * +UB are always live (even when the car is locked).

Edit:

To add to the info on here, here's the connections from my Stream MP3 (Octavia II 4x4 2006) - hope it helps someone else...

I've since discovered that the headunit doesn't have a switched live as it's controlled by CANBUS.

Hi mate, when i needed a switched live, i scotchlocked onto a feed to the climate control, i think it was a yellow and black wire?? Hope this helps.
