warranty work

Featured Replies

Can Audi/VW/Skoda/Seat take on and do warranty work from each others manufacturers?

for example could an audi garage do warranty work on a golf or would a VW garage have to do it?

:)

I wouldn't think so

thanks sarah, as i thought :(

cool look fwd to hearing from you :)

Slightly releated to this, I rang my local VW dealer for a price on a part (I had the part number).

He gave me the price then asked what car it was for, I said 1.8T Octavia and he said "Sorry you'll have to go to Skoda then, we cant supply parts for Skodas" and hung up !!

Rang back later the same day and said it was for a Golf and he was fine with it

I remember my local Subaru dealer doing something similar in that you had to supply a chassis number to prove you owned a UK car. Not that anyone thought of ways round that :rofl:

yeah mad aint it, heard a few things like that when people have ordered R32 anti roll bars etc :)

i thought i was going to get that when i ordered my lower strut brace. He asked what S3 it was for and i told him it wasnt he was like........errr ok then give me the part number. I must have cought someone off guard

Seat weren't too keen to order the Ibiza cupra wishbone bushes for the Fabia even with a part number given to them

Its to do with type approval.

Technically if your car is fitted with a part not approved by the manufacturer and it fails and leads to an accident the parts dept may get in trouble.

ah , yeah , i see your point on that
