Hmm £220 for a box seems a lot was zero for that 'friend' when mentioned to the insurance co.

I'll have an ask see if the thing is going anyway tom, and enjoy your car :D

Crikey, there are 150 replies! Thats impressive I must say.

Those US spec rears you see, when put on a UK car, the reversing lights flash. Silvervision bulbs should do the trick.

but they aren't a perfect straight swap. a little adjusting is needed but not too much :)

If the reversing lights flash then do you loose reverse or does the focus hatch ahve the low down reversing light also?

Er - it looks like a Focus ... - where is the clever bit?

nick, if you are referring to the picture posted by tom in post 149 then those are US spec lights not Uk spec lights so dont have the orange section, some prefer them as they look cleaner but i would rather just get smoked ones :)

those rear lights are a complete waste of money TBH. 99% of people wont notice the difference.

like the 1500 wheel option on your car phil? i know my missus wouldn't notice or infact care after it was pointed out.

the lights are a lot cheaper ;)

The Rays are actually standard on the MY06 GT ;) - they just raised the price of the car to accomodate them

Fair enough point though.

Just ploughed through all this..... I have never owned a Ford or really considered one - but have nothing against them. The one question I have is the Focus really this good?

I know a few of you on here have had them/currently own them etc.... and are your opinions really without any bias?

Reason I ask is the local dealer is doing some cracking offers on pre-reged New Shape 1.6 Sports

Tom - can highly recommend Ford Parts UK, got all my upgraded Ford part through them when I had my Focus. Very friendly service, and fast too.

Steve

Having just driven a large number of Miles of motorway in a focus TDCI estate, while the engine is quiet, i had forgooten just how annoying really hard suspension is and just how much the cabin creaks.

Arrggg!!!

Thankfully i'm back in my car now.

i love my octavia but i do find a focus much more rewarding to drive just sadly slower unless its an RS :(

which is the car you should have waited for...:D

Rewarding in terms of throwing into corners and fun yes.

Rewardin in terms of getting out feeling relaxed and without a headache, not a hope in hell.

Hmm, i find the Focus a million times more comfortable and refined than the Fabia vRS. Is the Ghia suspension any different to other models? It doesnt roll much at all, handles lovely and feels smooth over the rough stuff.

After arguing - I agree it does stall easy, but not down to lack of torque - simply because the engine cuts out circa 600rpm. Not an issue though, I prefer it to the BANG you get when you stall the PD engine.

The car in general is great. The only downside to the vRS is the lack of sheer grunt, and whilst the build quality seems as good, the doors seem a bit light and the rear hatch rattles.

you just wait until the parcel shelf starts squeking against the hatch :)

i neved found my focus tiring to drive like i don't find my brothers, maybe the focus doesn't suit your body shape that well?

I dunno i just found the creaks annoying.

The one i drove was a ghia, but i'm comparing it against and Elegance Octy.

It handles a million times better than the octy but i felt so tired after the drive.

Just guess i got used to comfort now.
