Ohh now this could be a nice development, although I have to say I'm not so sure as to how the thing can get past the fact that it needs to be at a certain temperature to burn off.

Im suitably scheptical as well but willing to give it a try, the intention is still at 60001 miles to get rid of the filter

Well, the dealer is, not surprisingly, unwilling to email me a copy of the TB, but he assures me that it is in place and his Superb's ECU was flashed this morning. Might be worth a call to all your dealers to confirm?

Cars just asked for a service, how convenient, will see what happens when I mention it, my dealer is usually very good. In case he has problems would your dealer let you know the title or ref number of the report

OK - it's either Technical Bullitin 25 dated the 27th April 07 or Technical Bullitin 27 dated 25th April 07...

Alright, I know.... I'm Sorry, but I was driving when I called the dealer and couldn't change gear, steer and find a bit of paper to jot it down all at the same time. :) But at least it's existance has now been confirmed by two dealers.

Numskull, name the dealer so Stuart can call them

Thanks

I will see what my dealer has to say this morning

Good luck with it Stuart.

I'm still on the look out for either a trace of readings from the appropriate channel on VAG-COM or a G450 sensor that I can have a look at and possibly probe in a physical way. If anyone can help on there, I would be really grateful.

According to my dealer there is noecu upgrade for the car, ours is a 2006 Superb 140 2.0 Diesel, are we talking about the same car.

If it is would someone at either of the dealers be happy for me to call them, do you have a contact name & phone number

Stuart look at what you've started!! Have you seen how many linkbacks there are to this article!!

I would try phoning Skoda direct.

Why would two dealers state there is a fix if there isn't? I'd also suggest a call to Skoda UK.

Thanks to all

I will get on the blower tomorrow, Im out of the office today, got to go to Powerstation for a geometry tweek :)

Hi Folks,

A way to keep your Superb's carbon filter clean is to drive your car fairly hard once in a while, this blows out the carbon build up in the filter. Hope this helps....

Sorry, shouldn't laugh, but I will, again

Gotta agree with the thread title, went for a demo last week and the demo car was asking to go for attention with little over 2k on the clock.

Ive done 4 cannonballs so as you can guess Im not exactly your average steady driver but it still went wrong for us. Its basically a design comprimise to try & extend the life of old technology & its failed. SUK's attitude is the thing that probably annoyed me even more. I know of someone in an Audi who had problems & Audi were proactive in finding a workable solution for the customer

But the problem, Stuart is that Skoda don't have any development expertise and VAG are not going to expend any development effort on a "run out" model. Audi are a bit more important (more profit per unit).

I suspect that the development engineers are all too busy getting the rattles out of the new Passat - but this treatment of customers is a disgrace to VAG.

rotodiesel.

I'm picking my new 2.0 140bhp Superb up on saturday. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I have been following this thread with interest as I am seriously considering a Superb L&K 2.0 140bhp. Might even buy one tomorrow. Might not, now.

The service bulletin referred to is number 25 dated 27 April 2007 and I have a copy (ask no questions.....). I have attempted to attach a copy; dunno if I succeeded or not.

This appears to call for two actions;

- Regenerate DPF,

- Flash update the diesel ECU.

I would like to think that on new cars this modification has already been done. Does any one know?

My dealer denied its existence, I will have another word, odds are if its anything like the fabia they have a well publicised stutter & that is still available with all new models although in fairness to SUK the partial fix is something they developed, not the factory

Apart from the DPF its a great car & it only failed us in the french mountains, since then not even a warning light.
