New keyboard

Featured Replies

Given crumbs and coffee etc, keyboards are definitely a diposable item :o Did get one of those plastic waterproof ones, but it only lasted about a year before "light touch" typing reverted to hitting keys with hammer. Don't know why though.

Couldn't do without a wireless mouse :nono: Got one though :boing:

As far as I'm concerned the only keyboard fit to use is the Cherry Click. Brutally expensive, incredibly noisy but absolutely perfect.

True. I can just picture my office kitted out entirely with them. Would sound like a factory of old mechanical type-writers

Agreed with that - in the same league as the IBM AT ones. Now why don't people go for nice tactile/clicky keys these days?

Yes - they were excellent - can you still get them? The Cherrys are getting hard to find now, though I'd suspect mine should have another 20 years in it if the rabbits don't shred the cable (again).

That's the fella. Fantastic keyboard - I notice they have refurbed IBM ATs as well.

£81 inc VAT! I think mine cost me about £38. :(

How about these! :gasp:

maltron_ergonomic_single_right_handed_keyboard_large.jpg Only £346.63

or

maltron_ergonomic_e_type_keyboard_large.jpg a snip at £460.63

ergonomic_fully_adjustable_cks_comfort_keyboard_large.jpg Just £220.

Blimey

we had one each of the first two here at one point. think they got chucked cos those "in the know" didn't have a clue about them...

slightly OT, but related to "human Input Devices", or whatever they're called, I splashed out for one of these mats ... it's a "3m Precise Mousing Surface"

I wasn't convinced, so I borrowed SWMBO's from her work first.

Much better than the conventional mouse mat I had before, especially when using software like Photoshop. I'm not into gimmicky things, but one of these is well worth 7 quid or so.

I keep meaning to try out a Dvorak keyboard - apparently considerably faster to type on...

On a typing related note... this looks funny but completely pointless

Clicky...

I like the third one shown in Tom vRS' post. Much easier to avoid shoulder and upper back/neck pain, especially if the numberpad is most used (hence unequal use of either hand). A lot is to do with seat, height and posture though.

Talking of cleaning keyboards / mice - when I was at the garage we found the best way of cleaning -- whiteboard cleaning foam sprayed liberally all over -- then blast all the crud and remains away with airline attachment -- they would come up like brand new!!

I currently use a wired logitech keyboard -- would love one of those G15 keyboards!!

I have a wireless logitech Mx1000 I think - charges in its own cradle fab.
