Panda 4x4 with an Uno turbo engine :D

Or a new panda integrale

i've got a feeling that you could get a 240 with the b23let engine from standard, but they are well rare!!

There certainly was such an animal as a 240 turbo, but not sure which engine code it used. IIRC it wasn't sold here cos the turbo was hung where the RHD steering column lives.

And it wasn't as potent as the 2.3 that lived in the 940.

How about a 440 with a T5 engine and running gear?

Not a turbo 4x4? :D

maybe you're being too subtle for me :o the gtx is a 4x4 turbo

Loving the idea of a q-car Felicia... it could be a very rewarding project. Dunno how heavy they are but possibly with a turbo'd 1.4 hyabusa engine in it? Rev like a nutter, small packaging, excellent noise, and all the while looking like a ickle old Skoda...

I once got beaten by a panda that had the 1.05 litre turbo engine from a Lancia Y10 fitted to it.

Not too embarrasing though as I was in my totally standard 1.0 litre panda at the time

I was going to recommend a Favorit - the engine bay is HUGE!!! I've seen a 2.8 Cosworth conversion, mental.

A Favorit will always be lighter than a Felicia too. ;)

And Favorits really are 10 a penny, with parts still being available for peanuts. There is a mint one in white up the road from me, really shiny, £295. Probably room for haggling too! ;)

Citroen/pug swap overs are not exactly hard to do IIRC, but that was shorning a 2.1 XUD into a space wher a 1.9XUD had been.

Go for a favorit the early favorits are about 200kg lighter than the last felicias, in my opinion they handle better and go faster. They are also DIRT cheap.

You can go for the ultimate grandad look sleeper. I personally love the 136 engine, its probably cheaper to buy a built engine from CZ than to buy a good standard big engine here. Keep the car looking like a grandad ride fromt he outside whilst fitting all the bits to make it go like rally car. If you want to do an engine swap I believe a friend of mine was once working out the viability of fitting a 2l 16valve vauxhall engine.

there's some interesting idea's coming up here! i am a big fan of the peugoet tu series engines fitted to ze citroen ax's.....

not sure about the fiat thing tho, that's what my brother is doing, quincechento (or however it's spelt) with a 1.6 punto engine, nice idea about the panda 4x4!!!!

i'm thinking project Q-Felicia might be going into production soon:)

now, 1.6 vw engine is highly tunable as i've found in the past..... i think maybe a standard lupo gti lump in there would be a good starting place

any thoughts anybody??

If i was to do a project car. I'd go and buy a Pug 106 GTI, And swap the engine for a Pug 306 GTI-6 and gearbox. The 106 being an excellent handling car in the first place, with the additional nice looks of the 106 GTI, you're onto a winner.

170 hp (excluding mods) in a car which weighs the best part of 900kg's.

Well, quite frankly it's a bullet.

This maybe a little far-fetched. But if you're able to do it. Then look into it!

yeah, but it's an awefull lot of work swapping that size of engine into a 106/saxo.... and i dont know an awefull lot about citroens and peugeot stuff... at least with vag stuff, i've got a fair amount of experience and about a million spare parts kicking around

T'was a nice thought though! :D

I'm liking the old motor with modern engine idea! :P

440 with a T5 sounds excellent.

Or a VR6 or 1.8T Felicia? Nice :D

i'm with you on the modern engine old car idea.......

but i dont think there's a monkeys tit of a chace that i could squeeze a 5cly T5 lump into a 440..... actually, thinking about it:rolleyes: how much does an old shape volvo s40 go for nowadays??

Fair point about the S40. And again, being Swedish, there'll be loads of add-on parts available to keep the mad Swedish tuners happy during the total darkness of their winter ;)

I've seen the T4 model on sale round here at local dealers for around the 2k mark. Which isn't bad for a fairly unassuming saloon with 200 brake. Must be fairly swift :)

Otherwise the 2.0s probably start at 800-1k these days, for 96P onwards. They'll be 100k upwards mind, and I don't know how strong those units are supposed to be?

go 4 a corsa and put a 2.0 16v redtop engine in it cheap, quick and can drive it hard all day long and not have a problem or if u want sumthink that wil scare ya put the 2.0 turbo engine in it!!

i'm liking that idea lots, think i'd prefer to go for an ecotec lump tho to be honest.....

that's got me thinking that has!

Subtle though please Tom. The world doesn't need another 'done up' Corsa!

just get a poverty spec corsa and keep it looking pretty much standard. slightly bigger steelies to fit over the bigger brakes and slightly firmer suspension to keep it from pitching under acceleration/braking etc :)

it's got to be....a RWD corrado! imagine it....they're cheap as chips as donors, too....

  • Author

rwd conversion are fairly easy to fo because you can use the rear diff/axle assemblies from a golf rallye or a syncro model golf/passat... but the parts are really hard to source nowadays. besides which it is a major job to undertake in my own garage at home.....

now, corsa...... steelies, ecotec lump..... maybe?????

i'm still thinking about a lupo gti powered felcia too!
