Tyres

Featured Replies

My elegance tyres are the standard fitment 225 17 variety, the car has covered nearly 10500 miles.

What sort of mileage figures have members been getting prior to changing thew original tyres?

Do people bother changing front & back tyres around?

What do members recommend as replacement?

Is there any info on cost, performance, noise, longivity etc. available?

Thanks Pete:D

I had a set of Continental Tyres on my last superb and by 16k they had vanished! I then put a set of Kumho Ecsta on there and they were not even half worn at 33k.

They sound great for longivity, what were they like for grip in dry & wet, noise and cost departments?

ps Whats your opinion of the 2.0L 140bhp engine over the 130 version?

They were ok for grip both dry and wet, a tyre I would recommend, as for cost they were not bad at all, cant rememeber the exact cost each, but did get two and the tracking done for about £120.

As far as the 2.0 over the 1.9 goes, well I have done 7000 miles since June and (touch wood) its a good engine, not as efficient as the 1.9, getting about 43-45mpg compared to about 46-49 of the 1.9. Its a bit more 'torquey' as well, but the real reason I changed was the extras the Elegance now has over the Comfort, oh and the fact I wanted a black one.
