Taking delivery of my new (used) Octavia this weekend coming. Came across this site from the vwaudi forum I found whilst searching for 1.8 turbo problems; which hints that the car I'm buying is, er, a 1.8 20V SLXi turbo. It's a Mk1 '00 W-plate, 44K hatch. I had a rear-engined 130LS for a while some years ago so I'm not ashamed of the badge. That was a great little car, though light at the front end. It had the best sound system going, given that the space behind the rear seats was fully insulated and encapsulated - making the space a huge speaker cabinet!

Hoping for good things from this car. It's got the toys inside - heated leather, climate control, etc. - and obviously quite a bit of engine management stuff going on so plenty of potential for it to go wrong!

Having a good time trawling the old posts for useful stuff. Like the way the board is split across models etc.
