Another towbar question

Featured Replies

I have recently got a skoda octavia estate and I wanted to get a towbar fitted. The car already has the main part of the towbar fitted but the ball is missing. From the rear, below the bumper there are two bits of metal sticking down with two holes in. Is this a skoda towbar or a after market one?

What is the part number i need for the ball part? what other vehicles is this type fitted to?

Any help would be appreciated

I have a Bosal one on my Superb that looks similar to that

Picture is probably not clear enough as most aftermarket ones are very similar. Mine is a tow trust which has two bars down. A good idea will be to post the centre spacing of the holes as this will probably be unique to each manafacturer and easier for people to check.

I have got an aftermarket one too.... can;t remember the name of it now, but I bought it from an ebay shop.

It looks quite similar as well.....

I have just been out and measured, the hole centres are 60mm apart.

Why not visit your local dealer, they'll know. If it ain't a Skoda part, seek out a caravan/trailor centre, they'll know. :)

Well it isn't a tow trust one, so theres a start

I went to my nearest towing place and they weren't sure what type it was, they wanted me to find out the make before they enquired about parts.

The car is a T reg and the bumper hasn't been cut, I was reading the witter instructions and they talk about cutting the bumper, so I don't think it's one of those.

Has anyone got any more idea's? or do I have to take the rear bumper off.

Mine required a bumper cut.... so that rules one out!
