Expecting ridicule....

The Rover SD1 Vitesse, or maybe the Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth, looks evil from the front (and has built in/on picnic tray:P )

Nothing wrong with either of them IMO!

Guigaro styled the Marina too but It's not on my list ;)

:D My Dad had one of these, I think this was the one we made it all the way to Cornwall in when I was a kid. It took twice as long as I do now, but it got there

My significant other is now on her third Peugeot 306 Diesel in ten years, each clocking up over 100,000 fault free miles ( save for the odd niggly bits and pieces - but never broken down ).

I know that this is about looks not reliability, but her current moonstone silver V-Plate 306 D-Turbo, with Factory GTI-6 wheels bodykit and suspension still turns heads, which for a design going back to 1993 is pretty good.

( and it is still the nearest thing to a go-cart I have ever driven on the road, shame it's only 110 bhp !)

More than can be said for the abomination that is the 307 !!!

Seat cupra R for a five door is a good looker

Old leon yes, new leon, what were they thinking inside it just looks tacky.

This is quite nice... 305mm rear tyres too!

Sorry, but the new Leon with that silly kit is a big :thumbdwn:

I've liked the look of the 3 door C4 since it came out. It's different. Performance is poo though but it looks cool.

No he didn't; Ital Design re-styled the Marina into the Ital though!

I think the MkI GTi's guite an ugly car TBH.

Sir You have no Taste! Mk1 Golf is easiest one of the Prettiest Hatchbacks ever made!

No one has mentioned the other iconic Hot Hatch.......Designed by the best Design studio in the business, Pina Farina

Ladies and Germs (I hate it cos it's french, but it's just so damn pretty) i give you the 205 GTi

the Mk2 pre facelift Fiat Punto. The Facelifted model looked too much like an old Polo.

can people not grab an image from google when they mention cars? Hard to tell without seeing them.

I can't believe, with all the metal posted here, you're still picking a Punto!

Steve

I harboured dreams of owning one of these when I was little:

Then again, I also wanted a Hilux like Marty McFly got at the end of Back to the Future - can't say I'm quite so keen on either option now, though!

On the other hand, looking at the Rancho: Roomster Scout, anyone?! ;):D

It's got 4 seats and the back lifts up, it must be a hatchback.

Ladies and Gentlemen may I present my pre-mortgage mode of transport :)

i'd class the 944/968 as a coupe, not a hatch:D damn fine car though:thumbup:

well the ones I really like have already been posted, plus when the best looking car you have seen for 4 weeks is a Holden Barina (Vauxhall Corsa), your mind does go numb.

Ooh, 944 S2 - very nice. :)

You're quite right about the functionality of it - in terms of doors it's a hatchback really, although the boot isn't particularly deep owing to the gearbox sat below it.:D

I'd like to nominate the AMV8.. its a two door hatch...
