Rally Mudflaps for Octavia VRS

Featured Replies

Ur, if they sat 5mm outside the wheel arch that would make them illegal - tis defo an MOT failure

Sorry; I should have been more specific about the alignment of wheel/tyre vs wheelarch.

They, the wheels/tyres, do not per se sit outside of the wheel arch (thus being illegal, or like a mini with wheel spacers); if you were to look at the wheelarch from directly above you would not see the tyre.

What IS outside, is the tyre relative to the trailing edge of the wheelarch on about the lower two-thirds this being the area that you need the RallyFlapz for. On a standard Octavia or vRS with 17" wheels the edge of the tyres do not go out as far and thus the trailing edge of the wheelarch covers it more and there is less of a requirement for mudflaps.

Hope this makes sense. Besides I don't believe that Skoda would do an official option of wheels/tyres that are illegal.

Chris,

Excellent, thanks for all your efforts, and Fluffmeister's for being the ginuea pig.

I'm in, but can't see a 'group buy' thread yet? or is it just a Briskoda discount and we buy via paypal/e-bay?

Any pictures on a Black VRS - no logos please

I spoke to Ian @ PC a few minutes ago and have got my set ordered. :D

They are also now available on e-bay for both Octavia and Fabia vRS

Glad some peeps are happy.

They have been doing a good job of keeping the crud off my Octy, it's done 2000 miles over the last few weeks through snow, rain and mud and they are definately working as expected.

They nearly got 'ripped' off and torn to shreds on a rolling road this week too!!

How difficult are these to fit on to the Octavia?

Thanks.

EDIT :-

Would it be possible to order a hybrid set, fronts no vRS logo, but rears with logo?

Ian at Performance creations would do the logo thing no problem mate, the flaps themselves take around 30 - 40 mins to fit, I got the "prototypes" on without having to remove the wheels, but it would be easier if the rear wheels where removed.

Thanks for the info. One other question, how much drilling is involved, or does it use OEM holes?

I think I need to count my pennies and see if I can order a set. I can't believe how mucky the bottom of the vRS gets, I've only had the car a week

It's all done on OEM holes, no drilling, the only thing you have to do is make 1 small hole in each front arch liner to fit a fixing plug to mate.

Thanks again for the info.

I'm going to have to order a set I think.

Please please can someone get me photos of these black rally mudflaps (no logo!!!) on a black mk II vrs?? Seriously thinkin of makin an order, but want to make sure i wont look like a boy racer!!:D:rolleyes:

I've got some black flaps fitted to the rear of my silver Mk2 - they seem to do the job but I'm not liking how it looks tbh

I got a set of skoda's own octavia flaps. The fronts fit fine, and with a bit of shaving ( the inside lip of the flap) and a slight trim to the bumper insode the arches the backs fit too. And I honestly think they look pretty good..........

These are on my 2.0 sport......which unfortunately is no vrs . . . . not sure how your bumpers compare ...

The bumpers on the vRS are exclisive to that model; hence the standard mudflaps will not, officially, fit on the rear bumper. However, with a degree of application (as already mentioned in previous posts to this thread) they can be made to fit.

The aims of the RallyFlapz are simple 1) to provide a more effective mudflap (wider and longer) that is 2) custom designed for the vRS and that 3) looks a bit different. :D
