Rally Mudflaps for Octavia VRS

Featured Replies

Maybe should have read previous replys before commenting....... The improvemnt made by this small addition I think is amazing.....just a shame about the ridiculously massive gap between the rear wheel and the arch.......

I'll be able to do Red on Red in a week or so; I've got the RallyFlapz but no car yet!

Well; got my vRS on Thursday, had my RallyFlapz fitted on Friday and promptly put them to the test on the A3/M25 in really mucky weather; hence the car is not spotlessly clean, like Fluff's is elsewhere in this thread.

Nevertheless here are some pics:-

They certainly IMHO look good and seem to do the job they're designed for; a worthwhile purchase.

So to all those who are only 'thinking' of buying them - what are you waiting for? get on the phone to Ian at performance Creations and get your set bought!

I've gotta ask about those alloys bahnstormer...

...are they dealer supplied or aftermarket?

MPM :D

Dealer fit style B14 18" x 8J (the zeniths are 7.5J).

Would also rec. rear wheel removal, just custom fitted some standard skoda ones to my 2.0 fsi sport, a bit fiddley and there is a slight gap around 2/3 rds the way down as the bumper has a slight opposite curve to the standard, look good though and should reduce the cruddy rear end look. Just need to give the calipers a good clean and a coat of appropriate paint, was thinking red but might just go for black...it is only a sport after all.....

I guess that means there is no deal for briskoda members any more? :thumbdwn:

I emailed ian @ Performance Creations about this and he said he didnt know if they fitted the vRS estate, sounds a bit odd.......does anybody know for sure if they will?? Is the bumper not the same?

Bah; humbug. Besides its the law of supply/demand. If you have a vRS there isn't anything else to use.

Lol. Don't normal mudflaps fit - the plastic moulded ones?

Nope! NOt 'officially' anyway on the vRS bumper. That's the whole reason that these 'Rally Flpaz' were designed.

Chris Ellis has ordinary mudflaps on his vRS.

I know i have asked this before but just incase its been overlooked, does anyone know if rallyflapz will fit the estate vrs?? or has anybody done it??

I cant see that the wheel arch section of the bumper will be any different between the hatch and the estate.

With regards to Performance Creations, I am being completley ingnored by email. I did get one email back from Ian at the begining (very abrupt and inpolite) but get the impression he doesnt want my business, which is a shame as if i can confirm they fit the estate i would almost certainly buy a set. Even if i am the first to ask, i am sure there will be others asking the same questions.

If only i didnt live at the end of a gravel drive!!!

BOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

Your all philistines, my rallyflpaz make my octy handle a lot better than standard, I swear it, I had put the rallyflpaz on, (then a set of eibachs and koni fsd's) and it handles like it's on rails, it's the ground effect of me flapz I tell you.

Right, I'm off for another month or so ...... nurse, my medication please!!

Actually, they are marmite, you love 'em or hate'em, I like them on mine, but they are a good match for race blue and they are really doing the job well of stopping ****e from some of the rutted country lanes I have to visit every now and again ;)

They look so much better than the rally 'flapz', IMO.

I'd have to agree, but each to their own  I'd imagine they do prevent a lot of crap coming onto the car.

Having had RallyFlaps on my car for a few weeks I though a bit of 'comment' (as posted elsewhere) would not go amiss;-

... On the RallyFlapz topic, having got them on my vRS hatch I would be surprised if they do not fit the Estate.

The flaps themselves are really quite flexible (or should I say flappy) and the fixing brackets at the rear sort of bend into a U shape as the wheelarch liner they fix to is about an inch (2.5cm) 'inside' the line of the wheelarch that the flap rests against (have a look?).

There is therefore plenty of scope IMHO for adjustment of the fitting to cover any possible (unexpected) difference in the bumper of the Hatch vs. Estate.

Overall a very worthwhile purchase as they definitely keep the muck off your car. Just be careful when reversing to a kerb (there is a warning in the fitting instructions). As the flaps are long they can get trapped between kerb and wheel, and with the rotation of the wheel will get dragged down. I have had to adjust the fitting of one flap twice now 'cos of this, and am now driving with only one flap. I reversed onto a kerb that I didn't expect to be there and ripped it off. Doh!!

It has though served to show how effective they are as, two days later, one rear quarter is pretty clean and the other filthy dirty. When I refit them I might just trim 5cm off the length to minimise the risk of future accidents. Perhaps I should then call them TrackFlapz?

Copied below is an e-mail I have just sent to Ian @ Performance Creations;-

"Further to my phone call a day or so ago, thank you VERY MUCH for sending some replacement rear fixing brackets for my Octavia vRS RallyFlapz, which I received this morning.

I will hopefully be able to get my rear flaps refitted this weekend.

Your quick response is much appreciated and many thanks again."

Sounds like you get a better response from them than i do, they completely ignore me and dont seem to want my business. Have tried to email them about 5 times now, not a single reply:confused: , i have checked the email address and it is correct.

Even though they refuse to explore the option that they fit an estate, i am happy to give it a try seeing as though they are the only ones that do them (that i know of), normally i would not give someone my business if they mess me about. All i need is for them to acknowledge me as a customer and let me buy them?????? If only!
