Octavia Mk 1 RS window problem

Featured Replies

The passenger side window is very ill on my 04 RS. As I rolled it down yesterday, it made some grinding noises, and then got stuck. It would not come back up under the power of the motor, so I had to push it back in place manually.

Anyone had a similar problem, and if so any pointers?

My friend with a mk4 Golf had similar issues on both doors. iirc there is a part of the motor assembly that breaks which requires replacement. Not sure if you can get the part seperately or not. If not then I had a feeling that the price was something like

The window regulator has broken, part is about £50 + VAT.

Had one of mine replaced last month. Bill at local independent was just under £100.

Sounds exactly like mcgyver's driver side one I broke the last time I drove his MK1... Bring it to the local dealer. Sounds like its popped off the rails.

Yep, i had this recently on my 2001 vRS. Was £130 at Skoda to replace window regulator/motor
